Assistant Legal Manager

A famous fashion brand is looking for an Assistant Manager, Legal to join their team. This role offers the chance to provide comprehensive legal support across a thriving business, ensuring robust compliance with all relevant laws and regulations while actively minimising risk. You will play a pivotal part in supporting the company’s growth within the retail sector by delivering expert legal guidance on a wide range of commercial and corporate matters.

What you'll do:

For this role, you will be entrusted with providing end-to-end legal support that underpins every aspect of the business’ operations. Key responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive legal and compliance advice across all areas of the business, ensuring alignment with current laws and regulations.
• Handle a broad spectrum of corporate and commercial matters, both contentious and non-contentious, offering practical solutions to complex issues.
• Advise internal stakeholders on regulatory requirements including advertising, competition law, IT, intellectual property, data privacy, employment, and property matters.
• Identify potential regulatory compliance risks during new product or service development, marketing campaigns, and other business activities, assessing their impact on operations.
• Collaborate with the Information Security department to address legal risks related to financial and reputational concerns.
• Work closely with Stores and Store Support teams to enhance legal awareness and develop effective compliance strategies throughout the organisation.
• Implement the company’s compliance programme by managing reporting processes, conducting investigations, and recommending remedial actions to uphold legal standards.
• Coordinate compliance efforts such as staff training sessions, liaising with external consultants and authorities as needed.
• Advocate best practices by facilitating training sessions for staff and providing guidance on customer claims when required.
• Draft, review, negotiate, and advise on a variety of commercial contracts including tenancy agreements, supply agreements, employment contracts, nondisclosure agreements, and more.

What you bring:

To excel in this role, you should bring strong legal expertise and a proven track record in your practice area. Key requirements :

• Hold at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Law from a recognized institution with strong academic credentials.
• Bring between 5-6 experience as a lawyer or legal counsel handling commercial matters within reputable organizations.
• Practical understanding of regulatory frameworks (e.g., competition law, data privacy, employment law), and hands-on experience drafting and managing commercial contracts, including tenancy and supply
• A proactive, solutions-oriented approach with the ability to navigate complex, multicultural environments—combined with strong interpersonal skills to work effectively across teams and business units.
