AI Governance Specialist ( Legal / TMT / regulatory compliance)

What you'll do:

As an AI Governance Specialist you will be instrumental in establishing a strong foundation for responsible artificial intelligence within the organisation.

• Develop, review, and enhance frameworks, policies, and procedures that underpin the governance of artificial intelligence within the organisation.
• Provide comprehensive oversight and quality assurance on AI solutions and products throughout their development lifecycle to ensure responsible practices and regulatory compliance.
• Advise internal stakeholders by identifying, evaluating, and mitigating risks associated with AI use cases across various business units.
• Drive awareness initiatives by designing and delivering training programmes on AI governance matters for employees at all levels.
• Prepare detailed responses for regulatory consultations related to AI governance issues, ensuring timely coordination with relevant departments.
• Collaborate effectively with information security, risk management, compliance, legal, and business teams to maintain robust governance standards for AI technologies.
• Research emerging trends in AI governance, best practices, and regulatory requirements to inform policy development and organisational strategy.
• Monitor changes in laws and regulations impacting AI such as PDPA, MCIPD, GDPR, EU AI Act to ensure ongoing compliance.
• Develop presentation materials for management reporting on AI governance activities and outcomes.
• Support continuous improvement by recommending enhancements based on research findings and stakeholder feedback.

What you bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in Law or Artificial Intelligence or another relevant discipline is required for this position.
• 3-5 years experience in risk management, legal or regulatory compliance matters relating to technology risk or data protection is essential.
• Demonstrated understanding of laws, regulations, and frameworks impacting artificial intelligence such as PDPA, MCIPD, GDPR, EU AI Act is necessary.
• A keen interest in ethics surrounding artificial intelligence as well as regulations governing data protection is highly desirable.
• Exceptional attention to detail combined with strong analytical abilities for conducting thorough research and producing high-quality written materials.
• Excellent verbal communication skills paired with outstanding interpersonal abilities that foster collaboration across multiple teams.
• A self-starter mentality with high initiative complemented by strong work ethics is important for success in this role.
• Ability to work dependably alongside professionals from data science, legal, compliance, risk management, and business backgrounds is crucial.
• Basic understanding of artificial intelligence concepts as applied within business environments is preferred but not mandatory.
