What you'll do:

As a Senior Human Resources Business Partner in Penang’s thriving manufacturing sector, you will be entrusted with guiding the organisation’s people strategy through collaboration with both local teams and global Centres of Excellence. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include coaching managers on effective people strategies, facilitating workforce development programmes that nurture talent at every level, and ensuring fair treatment for all employees. You will actively participate in change management initiatives designed to enhance organisational performance while utilising data-driven insights to inform decision-making. By partnering closely with senior leadership, you will help shape the future of workforce planning and talent management. Your role will also involve managing sensitive employee relations matters with empathy and professionalism. Success in this position requires a commitment to building an inclusive culture where every individual feels supported and valued.

  • Provide HR leadership and direction across competency development, succession planning, talent management, talent acquisition, labour relations, employment law compliance, employee relations, employee engagement, change management, and process improvement.
  • Coach and consult with management on issues affecting morale, performance, development, and organisational effectiveness by determining root causes and recommending appropriate next steps.
  • Offer guidance to client groups ensuring consistent, equal, and fair treatment of all employees while consulting managers on adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Partner with HR Centres of Excellence to address strategic needs of client groups and ensure alignment with broader business objectives.
  • Present, train, and facilitate workforce development programmes that enhance skills and capabilities throughout the organisation.
  • Support communication on performance management tools and processes as well as compensation and rewards programmes to ensure transparency and fairness.
  • Lead change management initiatives with client group leaders to address issues that enhance overall performance and build human capital capability.
  • Conduct investigations into complaints or concerns that may have legal ramifications; assess severity, involve appropriate individuals, and facilitate action based on policy.
  • Apply knowledge of key business drivers when making decisions related to human capital strategy for the site.
  • Leverage HR analytics and insights to influence business outcomes by translating metrics into actionable strategies.

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Management, Business Administration or any relevant field is required for this position.
  • At least 15 years of experience in HR roles within multinational manufacturing environments is essential for success.
  • A minimum of 7 years’ experience specifically in HR Business Partner or strategic HR advisory roles is necessary.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with senior leadership teams to drive workforce planning, talent strategies, and organisational effectiveness is highly valued.
  • Strong background in employee relations including performance management and coaching managers on people strategies is expected.
  • Demonstrated success implementing HR initiatives aligned with business objectives within complex organisations is important.
  • Skilled in data-driven HR decision-making using analytics and insights to influence business outcomes is required.
  • Familiarity with HR systems and tools along with the ability to translate metrics into actionable strategies is advantageous.
