Payroll Specialist

Our client is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join their dynamic Human Resources team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of employee compensation, bridging payroll and HR, supporting compliance, employee satisfaction, and efficient HR operations.

What you'll do:

As a Payroll Specialist, you will play an integral part in the Human Resources team. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the accurate processing of employee compensation.

  • Process and administer payroll transactions in alignment with HR policies, including salaries, benefits, bonuses, and deductions.
  • Collaborate with HR colleagues to ensure payroll changes are updated in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Maintain and update employee payroll records in the HRIS and payroll system.
  • Respond to payroll-related inquiries from employees and managers in a professional and confidential manner.
  • Participate in payroll process improvements and HR system enhancements.
  • Stay current on payroll legislation and HR best practices to ensure continuous compliance and improvement.

What you bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Business Administration or related field.
  • Minimum 2–4 years of experience in payroll administration within an HR team.
  • Familiarity with local employment and payroll laws (e.g., Malaysian Employment Act, tax laws).
  • Proficiency in HRIS and payroll systems (e.g., SAP, Workday, SQL Payroll or similar platforms).
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, confidentiality.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills for collaboration across departments.
