Our client is a conglomerate of several businesses, focusing mainly on Machining, Fabrication, Automation Engineering Solution and Contract manufacturing. They are seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to oversee and develop key HR functions: talent hiring, training management, performance appraisal procedures, workforce engagement, and compliance management. This role will be based in the vibrant Penang Science Park.

What you'll do:

As a Human Resources Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the workforce of our client's diverse business portfolio. Your expertise in HR management will be crucial in enhancing the organization’s human resources through effective planning, implementation of policies, programs, promoting best practices. You will be responsible for maintaining the work structure by updating job requirements for all positions. Your role will also involve managing a comprehensive pay plan while ensuring legal compliance. Your ability to cultivate professional knowledge through continuous learning will be highly valued.

  • Evaluate, plan, and implement employee relations and human resources policies, programs, and best practices.
  • Maintain the work structure by updating job requirements and descriptions for all positions.
  • Establish a recruiting and interviewing program; advise managers on candidate selection; conduct and analyse exit interviews; recommend changes to management.
  • Prepare new employees by establishing and conducting orientation and training programs.
  • Manage a pay plan by conducting periodic pay surveys; schedule and conduct job evaluations; prepare pay budgets; monitor and recommend, plan, and implement pay structure revisions.
  • Ensure planning, monitoring, and appraisal of employee work results by training managers to coach and discipline employees; hear and resolve employee grievances; counsel employees and supervisors.
  • Implement employee benefits programs and inform employees of benefits by studying and assessing benefit needs and trends; recommend benefit programs to management; direct the processing of benefit claims; design and conduct educational programs on benefit programs.
  • Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements, conducting investigations, maintaining records, representing the organization at hearings.

As an ideal candidate for the Human Resources Manager position, you bring along a wealth of experience in progressively responsible human resource roles. Your skills extend from hiring to benefits administration to performance management. You have a deep understanding of communication processes within an organization as well as compensation structures. Your knowledge of diversity management is essential for this role. You are familiar with Employment Acts Laws against sexual harassment which is crucial for maintaining a safe and inclusive work environment. Your experience in organization development will be a valuable asset to our client.
