What you'll do:
As an Assistant Manager Compensation and Benefits based in Kuala Lumpur, you will be entrusted with overseeing the full spectrum of payroll operations for a mid-sized workforce. Your day-to-day activities will involve close collaboration with both internal HR colleagues and external vendors to ensure every aspect of compensation is handled smoothly. You will be responsible for maintaining meticulous records, providing clear communication on benefits matters, supporting annual review cycles with insightful data analysis, and contributing ideas for continuous improvement. * Oversee the end-to-end payroll process for approximately 300-500 employees, ensuring all payments are accurate, timely, and compliant with local regulations.
* Manage compensation and benefits administration, including salary reviews, allowances, incentives, insurance schemes, and statutory contributions.
* Work collaboratively with external payroll vendors to ensure efficient service delivery and resolve any issues promptly.
* Maintain up-to-date records of employee compensation data, benefits enrolment, and related documentation in accordance with company policies and audit requirements.
* Provide guidance to employees on compensation matters, benefits options, claims procedures, and policy interpretation in a considerate manner.
* Support the annual salary review process by preparing relevant data analyses and reports for management decision-making.
* Assist in developing and implementing compensation strategies that align with organisational goals while promoting fairness and transparency.
* Monitor changes in employment legislation affecting payroll or benefits administration and recommend necessary adjustments to policies or procedures.
* Participate in HR projects related to rewards programmes or process improvements that enhance employee engagement and operational efficiency.

* Experience working collaboratively with third-party payroll vendors or service providers to deliver high-quality outcomes.
* Strong understanding of Malaysian employment legislation relating to payroll processing, taxation, EPF/SOCSO contributions, and employee benefits.
* Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to explain complex information clearly to employees at all levels in a polite and supportive manner.
* Advanced proficiency in HRIS systems or payroll software as well as Microsoft Excel for data analysis purposes.
* Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive employee information while demonstrating trustworthiness at all times.
