This role is based in Johor Bahru and covers the vibrant regions of Johor and Malacca, offering you the chance to make a significant impact on the growth and success of healthcare services in these areas.

What you'll do:

As Channel Development Assistant Manager, you will play an instrumental role in shaping the growth trajectory of healthcare services across Johor Bahru and Malacca. Your day-to-day responsibilities will centre around designing robust channel development strategies that align with organisational goals while responding dynamically to evolving market conditions. You will be entrusted with cultivating meaningful relationships with influential stakeholders ranging from doctors to key opinion leaders and ensuring their ongoing engagement through regular communication and value driven interactions. By spearheading diverse marketing initiatives such as educational seminars or targeted B2C campaigns, you will drive greater awareness of available services while supporting increased uptake among both existing partners and new prospects. Your analytical acumen will be essential as you gather insights into market trends and competitor movements; these findings will directly inform your recommendations for future growth strategies. Success in this role hinges on your ability to collaborate seamlessly across departments, adapt quickly to changing priorities, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and maintain a proactive approach towards achieving ambitious targets.

  • Develop and implement comprehensive annual plans for channel development, including strategy formulation, activity planning, communications management, budgeting, and resource allocation tailored to regional needs.
  • Achieve or surpass set targets by identifying new market opportunities within local hospitals as well as other potential segments relevant to healthcare services.
  • Organise and execute impactful marketing activities such as seminars, webinars, continuing medical education sessions (CMEs), product knowledge training sessions, doctor visits, and business-to-consumer initiatives to increase awareness and acceptance of services.
  • Establish and nurture long-term relationships with key stakeholders including key opinion leaders, medical professionals, and potential business partners throughout Johor and Malacca.
  • Conduct thorough market analyses to identify emerging business opportunities while performing competitor assessments to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams within the organisation to ensure seamless execution of channel development strategies and alignment with broader business objectives.
  • Gather critical market intelligence on trends, customer preferences, and competitor activities to support data-driven strategy formulation.
  • Represent the organisation at industry events, conferences, and meetings to enhance visibility and foster valuable connections within the healthcare sector.
  • Monitor performance metrics regularly to evaluate the effectiveness of channel development initiatives and recommend improvements where necessary.
  • Travel frequently within Johor Bahru and Malacca regions to maintain close contact with stakeholders and oversee on-ground activities.

What you bring:

To excel as Channel Development Assistant Manager, you will bring a wealth of experience from the healthcare sector ideally spanning pharmaceuticals, medical devices or related fields enabling you to navigate industry nuances confidently. You possess a proven history of success in sales or marketing environments where relationship management was central to achieving results. Your interpersonal strengths are complemented by polished presentation skills that help you engage audiences during educational events or partnership discussions. As someone who thrives on collaboration rather than competition, you are adept at working alongside colleagues from various departments towards common goals. Your academic achievements underpin your analytical mindset while your willingness to travel underscores your commitment to maintaining strong regional ties. Above all else, your enthusiasm for continuous learning ensures that you remain responsive to emerging trends while consistently delivering value through every interaction.

  • A minimum of five years’ experience within the pharmaceutical, medical device or healthcare industry is essential for understanding sector-specific challenges and opportunities.

  • A track record of taking initiative reflects your eagerness to develop new capabilities while contributing positively to team outcomes.
