This role is perfect for someone who enjoys being at the heart of daily operations, working closely with teams on the production floor, and ensuring that every process meets the highest standards of quality and compliance.

The organisation offers a supportive team culture where your ability to nurture staff, enhance processes, and ensure regulatory compliance will be highly valued. With opportunities to collaborate across departments and contribute directly to the growth of the branch, this position provides an engaging platform for you to make a meaningful impact while developing your career in the food industry.

  • Be part of a growing SME with a strong reputation for quality and compliance in the food manufacturing sector, offering you stability and room for professional development.
  • Enjoy a hands-on management role where your interpersonal skills and attention to detail will help shape efficient systems and foster a collaborative workplace.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, gaining exposure to various aspects of production, quality control, procurement, and logistics while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

What you'll do:

As Branch Manager (FMCG) based in Kedah, you will immerse yourself in every aspect of day-to-day operations within a vibrant SME setting. Your focus will be on supporting both people and processes—supervising production activities on the ground while working closely with cross-functional teams. You will play an essential role in maintaining rigorous food safety standards by monitoring compliance with key certifications such as MeSTI, HALAL, HACCP, and GMP. Your responsibilities will extend from managing stock levels and production schedules to participating in audits and driving continuous improvement initiatives. By training staff on SOPs and hygiene practices as well as collaborating with colleagues across departments like QC and logistics, you will help create an environment where operational excellence thrives. Success in this role means being approachable yet attentive—ensuring that every team member feels supported while collectively achieving high-quality outcomes.

  • Support the Operations Manager by overseeing daily production activities and ensuring smooth coordination between different departments within the branch.
  • Supervise staff on the production floor, providing guidance, support, and troubleshooting assistance to maintain workflow efficiency.
  • Assist in developing, implementing, and refining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) that promote consistency, safety, and productivity throughout all operational areas.
  • Monitor adherence to food safety regulations such as MeSTI, HALAL, HACCP, and GMP by conducting regular checks and ensuring all practices meet required standards.
  • Track stock levels, manage production schedules, and oversee daily output to guarantee timely fulfilment of orders and optimal resource utilisation.
  • Participate actively in internal audits, quality assurance checks, and compliance reviews to uphold high standards across all processes.
  • Train team members on SOPs, hygiene protocols, and best practices for productivity improvement while fostering a nurturing learning environment.
  • Collaborate with other departments including Quality Control (QC), warehouse management, procurement, and logistics to ensure seamless operations from raw material intake through finished product delivery.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements by analysing workflow bottlenecks or inefficiencies and recommending practical solutions.
  • Promote open communication among staff members to encourage knowledge sharing and collective problem-solving.

What you bring:

To excel as Branch Manager (FMCG), you will bring proven experience from supervisory roles within regulated industries—ideally food manufacturing—where attention to detail is paramount. Your background should include hands-on involvement with food safety protocols as well as exposure to certification requirements like HALAL or HACCP. Beyond technical expertise, your interpersonal strengths—such as clear communication in Bahasa Malaysia and English—will help foster trust among team members while facilitating knowledge transfer during training sessions. Your ability to juggle competing priorities without losing sight of quality makes you dependable when it comes to managing stock levels or coordinating schedules. Above all else, your willingness to collaborate across departments ensures that everyone works together towards shared goals; this sense of unity is what sets successful branches apart.

  • Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in a supervisory or assistant operations capacity within the food industry or similar regulated environment is highly desirable for this position.
  • Demonstrated understanding of food safety standards along with familiarity with certification processes such as HALAL, MeSTI or HACCP is essential for ensuring ongoing compliance.
  • Experience or genuine interest in developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as well as improving internal workflows will enable you to drive positive change within the branch.
  • A proactive approach combined with practical problem-solving abilities ensures you are comfortable working directly on the production floor alongside your team.
  • Excellent communication skills in both Bahasa Malaysia and English are necessary for effective collaboration across diverse teams.
  • Ability to train others patiently on new procedures or hygiene practices demonstrates your commitment to nurturing talent within the organisation.
  • Strong organisational skills allow you to monitor multiple tasks simultaneously—from stock management through scheduling—while maintaining accuracy under pressure.
  • Willingness to participate in audits or quality checks reflects your dedication towards upholding high standards at all times.
  • Collaborative mindset enables you to work harmoniously with colleagues from QC, warehouse management, procurement or logistics functions.
