What you'll do:

As a Quality Assistant Manager Industrial Rubber in Selangor, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining high standards across all stages of tire manufacturing. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve monitoring compliance with international standards such as ISO9001, overseeing critical decision-making regarding component status in the OTR area, and managing final finishing processes. You will collaborate extensively with production, engineering, PI, and PO teams to resolve quality issues efficiently. By authorising production stoppages when necessary and leading defect analysis efforts using advanced tools like FMEA, you will help drive continuous improvement initiatives. Your ability to communicate effectively in Bahasa Malaysia will be essential for guiding shop floor staff during investigations and ensuring smooth operations. • Ensure strict compliance with internal audit systems, ISO9001 requirements, legal regulations, and technical standards throughout the plant.
• Drive the effective implementation and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS) and related tools to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.
• Monitor adherence to quality standards within the OTR Area – Tire Building Process, making informed decisions on suspicious components based on POMS documentation.
• Oversee final finishing processes by deciding on the status of finished tires, including release, rework, or scrap actions as necessary.
• Act as the key user for grading systems and MCAT, ensuring accurate analysis of cured tire yield and defect rates.
• Work collaboratively across production, engineering, PI, PO departments to address quality issues and foster interdepartmental cooperation.
• Authorise production stoppages when poor quality products are identified, safeguarding overall output integrity.
• Lead root cause analysis investigations and implement corrective actions using FMEA and other continuous improvement methodologies.
• Provide guidance and support to shop floor employees through clear communication in Bahasa Malaysia during investigations and operational activities.
• Prepare comprehensive quality reports using Microsoft Office and specialised reporting systems for stakeholder review.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Management, Mathematics or a related field is required for this position.
• At least 5 years of proven experience in Quality Assurance, Quality Control or Manufacturing Quality within the tire, automotive, rubber or manufacturing industry is essential.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001) along with proficiency in quality tools such as Root Cause Analysis, FMEA and Continuous Improvement methodologies is expected.
• Strong analytical skills paired with problem-solving abilities are vital for leading defect analysis investigations effectively.
• Demonstrated experience in managing production quality processes and implementing corrective actions is highly valued.
• Excellent communication skills in Bahasa Malaysia (spoken and written) are mandatory for supporting shop floor employees and conducting thorough investigations.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including production, engineering and other departments is crucial for resolving complex quality issues.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications as well as specialised quality reporting systems is required for preparing detailed reports.
