Senior Project Controller

Our client is seeking a Senior Project Controller to join their team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to control and monitor project expenditure, provide planning and cost controlling support for all projects, and manage project activity scheduling.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring effective project implementation, preparing reports, coordinating with the project management team, and attending project meetings. This role requires excellent problem-solving, analytical, technical, and numerical abilities.

What you'll do:

As a Senior Project Controller, you will play a crucial role in managing various aspects of our client's projects. Your responsibilities will include controlling and monitoring total project expenditure, providing planning and cost controlling support for all projects, performing project activity scheduling, ensuring effective project implementation, preparing reports, coordinating with the project management team, attending meetings, performing costing related reporting. You will also be expected to establish standards, tools, procedures for use on the projects while managing data security, software license control.

• Control and monitor project total expenditure including verifying and checking of invoices and claims from suppliers, vendors and subcontractors.
• Provide planning and cost controlling support for all projects which includes variation reporting, monitoring of milestone progress to the preparation of customer billing processes.
• Perform and manage project activity scheduling and monitoring.
• Ensure effective project implementation and utilize productive reports from the existing system to monitor the status of all purchases, invoicing and delivery up to the closure of the project.
• Prepare fortnightly vessel movement report for the monitoring of the vessel and register all downtime, consumptions and vessel related issues relating to the project promptly to the project manager and management.
• Coordinate and work with the project management team to resolve project issues to ensure the delivery/completion of the project work.
• Attend project meetings and discussions with the external clients (if required).
• Perform project costing related reporting to the team and management’s review on a monthly basis to ensure that expenditures are kept within the project budget.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Senior Project Controller position brings a wealth of experience in similar roles or industries. You have a university degree in Mechanical & Electrical Engineering or a related field. With at least 8-10 years' experience under your belt, you understand business strategy and products. Your command of English and Bahasa Malaysia is excellent, both spoken and written. You have knowledge of elevator operation and service management. As a self-starter with good leadership qualities, you are computer literate and possess strong oral and written communication skills.

• University graduate in any Mechanical & Electrical Engineering field or any other field.
• Minimum 8-10 years of working experience in a similar industry or in construction industry.
• Understanding of business strategy and products.
• Excellent command of spoken and written English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Knowledge of elevator operation and service management.
• Good interpersonal ability.
• Self-starter with good leadership quality.
• Strong involvement and experience in management level.
• Computer literacy.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
