What you'll do:

As a Product Development Engineer based in Penang, you will play a pivotal role in advancing NAND flash memory technology by collaborating with diverse teams across device and packaging disciplines. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve evaluating wafer quality using industry-standard reliability tests, guiding front end process improvements, and working closely with Fab teams to optimise fabrication workflows. You will manage multiple projects of varying complexity within memory development, providing technical direction while nurturing communal learning through mentoring activities. • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to drive the development of NAND flash memory products, ensuring all technical requirements are met throughout the product lifecycle.
• Lead research initiatives focused on front end process improvements in device and packaging, utilising your expertise in electrical and electronic engineering or materials science.
• Evaluate quality performance for each wafer by applying strong knowledge of JEDEC standards and DPPM (Defect density per Million) reliability test specifications.
• Work directly with Fab teams to oversee wafer fabrication processes, supporting technology development and optimising wafer lifecycle management.
• Provide technical guidance on memory reliability devices, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices for quality assurance.
• Manage complex projects within memory development, coordinating resources and timelines to achieve successful outcomes.
• Support the implementation of innovative solutions for product development challenges, fostering a collaborative environment where knowledge sharing is encouraged.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to communal learning through training sessions and workshops.
• Participate in regular reviews of product performance data, identifying areas for improvement and recommending actionable strategies.

• Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree or PhD in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Materials Science (research), or any related discipline is required for this role.

• Demonstrated expertise as an R&D engineer focusing on front end process improvements in device and packaging is highly valued.
• Comprehensive technical knowledge of product development processes relating to memory reliability devices is expected.
• Strong familiarity with JEDEC standards and DPPM (Defect density per Million) reliability test specifications is necessary for evaluating quality performance.
• Extensive understanding of wafer fabrication techniques, particularly regarding technology development and wafer lifecycle management, is crucial.
• Experience working collaboratively with Fab teams or similar environments is preferred.
