What you'll do:
In the capacity of Senior Equipment Engineer based in Penang, you will assume a pivotal role in advancing manufacturing equipment utilised within medical device production. - Produce comprehensive mechanical designs and technical drawings utilising CAD modelling software in accordance with departmental standards, ensuring meticulous accuracy and procedural compliance.
- Procure both standard machine components and bespoke fabricated tooling, judiciously selecting materials and coatings suitable for automated equipment and tooling applications.
- Coordinate, monitor, and meticulously document project designs, estimates, and associated costs throughout the project lifecycle to ensure timely completion within defined parameters.
- Fulfil all project deliverables while vigilantly overseeing schedules and scope modifications to guarantee efficient achievement of delivery requirements.
- Prepare detailed reports and documentation to effectively communicate project status, outcomes, and progress to relevant stakeholders.
- Lead multidisciplinary project teams comprising Designers, Engineers, and Technicians during the design, assembly, debugging, and enhancement of equipment.
- Design pneumatic and hydraulic systems by specifying essential components required for optimal operation within automated environments.
- Assist in defining electrical component requirements as well as automated control needs pertinent to manufacturing equipment.
- Review and approve FDA/QSR equipment documents such as specifications and qualifications; support installation processes, qualification activities, and manage spares utilisation.
- Oversee incident response procedures for equipment failures by delineating business impact assessments, recovery strategies, and resource allocation necessary for resolution.
- Generate weekly and monthly metrics pertaining to equipment downtime, Mean Time To Repair (MTTR), Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF), cost analysis, improvement initiatives, Preventive Maintenance (PM) compliance, and resource management.
- Ensure all tasks undertaken as part of Primo adhere strictly to established procedures whilst continuously refining these processes.
- Promote the up-skilling of Maintenance Technicians through TSG methodologies by developing setup and maintenance documentation.
