This role offers you the chance to work with cutting-edge systems and collaborate with a knowledgeable global team, all while supporting a diverse range of users in a dynamic production setting. You will play a key part in maintaining and enhancing the site’s operating environment, from network topology to server management, and contribute directly to the seamless operation of critical business functions. The organisation is committed to fostering an inclusive and accessible workplace, providing flexible working opportunities where possible, and supporting your professional development through ongoing training and exposure to global best practices. If you are passionate about IT infrastructure, eager to make a tangible impact, and value being part of a supportive team that celebrates diversity and collaboration, this is the perfect next step for your career.

  • Be at the forefront of IT infrastructure operations, managing complex networks and systems that underpin essential business activities across multiple sectors.
  • Enjoy a collaborative and inclusive culture that values your input, supports your growth, and provides opportunities for continuous learning within a global network.
  • Benefit from flexible working arrangements where possible, comprehensive training opportunities, and a commitment to accessibility for all employees throughout their career journey.

What you'll do:

As an IT Infrastructure Specialist Networking based in Kulim, you will immerse yourself in a hands-on technical environment where your day-to-day activities revolve around ensuring seamless connectivity and robust system performance. Your responsibilities will span from installing new hardware to maintaining existing networks—always with an eye on reliability and security. You will monitor system health closely using diagnostic tools while responding swiftly to user requests or incidents. By preparing clear technical documentation and collaborating with both local colleagues and international teams or vendors, you will help drive projects forward efficiently. Your proactive approach will see you identifying areas for improvement before they become issues—whether it’s upgrading network capacity or refining security protocols. In this role you’ll also support web access services and telephony systems while ensuring compliance with corporate standards. Your efforts will directly contribute to smooth business operations across departments in a fast-evolving production environment.

  • Install, configure, manage, maintain, and troubleshoot computers, servers, networks, IT equipment, and office technology to ensure optimal performance across the site.
  • Plan, revise, and continuously improve IT infrastructure including network topology, cabling solutions, switches, hubs, wireless access points, and related hardware.
  • Monitor system uptime and proactively maintain high availability for databases, networks, and other critical infrastructure components.
  • Assess current systems regularly to propose upgrades or improvements that address growing demands on network capacity and performance.
  • Ensure all IT systems comply with corporate security policies by implementing robust end-point security measures and monitoring compliance standards.
  • Respond promptly to service requests and incidents by diagnosing issues efficiently and providing timely resolutions to minimise downtime for end users.
  • Prepare detailed technical documentation including procedures and guidelines; update these materials according to standard operating procedures as technologies evolve.
  • Perform daily operational checklists to guarantee server room tidiness and verify that all IT equipment is functioning correctly at all times.
  • Liaise effectively with global IT teams and external vendors to coordinate project delivery, service implementation, and maintenance tasks according to agreed specifications.
  • Support web access services, telephony systems, acquisition or decommissioning of equipment or software as required by evolving business needs.

What you bring:

To excel as an IT Infrastructure Specialist Networking in this organisation’s Kulim location, you will bring proven experience supporting complex IT environments—ideally within manufacturing or similarly demanding settings. Your background should include hands-on involvement with network installation/configuration as well as ongoing maintenance of both hardware (servers/switches) and software (Windows/Linux). You are adept at using diagnostic tools for monitoring system health while remaining vigilant about upholding stringent security standards. Your interpersonal skills enable you to communicate clearly with users at all levels—translating technical jargon into practical advice—and your documentation abilities ensure knowledge is shared effectively across teams. A recognised certification such as CCNA demonstrates your commitment to professional development while previous exposure to global project coordination highlights your ability to thrive in multicultural environments. Above all else you are dependable under pressure: able to juggle competing priorities without losing sight of quality or compliance requirements.

  • A strong customer service orientation that ensures user satisfaction through responsive support and clear communication at every stage of issue resolution.
  • Excellent analytical skills paired with effective troubleshooting abilities for diagnosing complex problems across networking hardware or software environments.
  • Proficiency in both oral and written communication as well as documentation skills necessary for preparing technical guides or updating procedures.
  • In-depth knowledge of networking concepts including firewalls, switches (preferably Cisco), Windows operating systems (both server/client), with additional experience in Linux or other mainstream OS considered beneficial.
  • Certification such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or equivalent is highly desirable for demonstrating advanced networking expertise.
  • Previous experience working within manufacturing environments is encouraged as it provides valuable context for supporting production-critical systems.
  • Fundamental understanding of infrastructure service management processes along with familiarity using diagnostic tools for monitoring system health.
  • Solid grasp of end-point security management tools/processes to ensure compliance with corporate IT security policies at all times.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within global teams while liaising effectively with vendors or external partners on project delivery or maintenance tasks.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field combined with three to five years’ relevant experience in similar roles.
