R&D PCB Layout Development Engineer

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced R&D PCB Layout Development Engineer to join their dynamic team.

This role is based in the vibrant city of Penang, Malaysia. What you'll do:

As an R&D PCB Layout Development Engineer, you will be at the forefront of resolving complex design issues while working closely with diverse design teams. Your expertise will be crucial in liaising with counterparts for the creation of component libraries and PCB footprints. You will also be responsible for creating and maintaining essential documentation for manufacturing applications. Your role extends beyond technical responsibilities as you will also provide training on PCB layout design, oversee a team of layouters, plan resources, and lead your team towards achieving company goals.

• Collaborate closely with design teams to resolve packaging, manufacturing or electrical design issues
• Liaise with counterparts in HQ for creation of component library and PCB footprint
• Create and maintain PCB layout documentation for manufacturing application
• Contact PCB manufacturing factory and order prototype PCB for engineering sample production
• Provide training on PCB layout design using various technologies in car-infotainment devices or modules application
• Oversee a team of PCB layouters ensuring compliance with PCB layout rules and guidelines
• Plan and assign PCB layout resources to development and series care projects
• Lead a team towards achievement of section goals, aligned with company goals and targets

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the R&D PCB Layout Development Engineer position brings a wealth of experience in the field. With a degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and at least 10-15 years of relevant experience, you have honed your skills in PCB layout application using EDA design tools such as Zuken and Cadence. Your knowledge extends to product engineering and problem-solving tools like Change Processes, BES-PE, FMEA, DFMA, QFD, 8D, and 6-Sigma. Your ability to write programming scripts using Perl sets you apart, and your knowledge in high speed PCB design is a significant advantage.

• Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering
• Minimum 10-15 years of experience in related field
• Experience in PCB layout application with EDA design tools: Zuken, Cadence
• Knowledge in product engineering and problem-solving tools (Change Processes, BES-PE, FMEA, DFMA, QFD, 8D, 6-Sigma)
• Ability to write programming script using Perl
• Knowledge in high speed PCB design, PCB stack-up and technology is an added advantage
