Senior IT Specialist (SAP)

Our client is seeking a Senior IT Specialist with a focus on SAP.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide functional support on SAP logistic modules, while also offering leadership and coaching to junior team members. The successful candidate will work closely with users to understand requirements and develop solutions in accordance with organisational standards and architecture. This role requires strong communication skills, excellent problem resolution abilities, and the capacity to work under tight deadlines.

What you'll do:

As a Senior IT Specialist (SAP), your role will be multifaceted. You will provide functional support on SAP logistic modules, working closely with users to understand their requirements and developing solutions that meet these needs. Your ability to analyze business requirements and map these to SAP best practice business processes will be crucial in this role. You will also design and develop test plans for various types of testing, coordinate execution of support tasks with other teams, conduct knowledge transfer and training of users, liaise with developers for system changes and maintenance, and ensure project and support service level targets are met.

• Provide SAP functional support on logistic modules
• Work closely with users to understand requirements and develop solutions
• Analyze business requirements and map those to SAP best practice business processes
• Design and develop test plans for executing unit, integration, system, data conversion or acceptance testing
• Coordinate execution of support tasks with other teams
• Conduct knowledge transfer and training of users
• Liaise with external/in-house developers for system changes and maintenance
• Ensure project and support service level targets are met

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Senior IT Specialist (SAP) position brings a wealth of experience and skills. You have a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Math, Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Your background includes experience in a discrete manufacturing environment and at least 5 years in SAP functional support roles. Your expert knowledge of functional business processes gives you an edge, as does your exposure to system integration via EDI/ALE/IDOC/Ariba. Above all else, your strong communication skills set you apart.

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Math, Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Experience in discrete manufacturing environment
• At least 5 years’ experience as SAP functional support roles
• Expert functional business process knowledge is an advantage
• Exposure to system integration via EDI/ALE/IDOC/Ariba
• Strong communication skills both written and verbal
