What you'll do:

As a Service Engineer (Equipments Industry) based in Penang, you will play an integral role in shaping business operations within one of Malaysia’s most dynamic regions. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve providing expert technical support for a diverse range of equipment used in water quality management. You will interact directly with customers to resolve issues swiftly while maintaining strong relationships built on empathy and trust. By participating in training sessions, supporting marketing initiatives, and contributing ideas for continuous improvement, you will help drive both operational excellence and customer satisfaction. Success in this position means being responsive to client needs, collaborating effectively with your team, and consistently upholding the organisation’s commitment to safeguarding vital resources.

  • Manage service support for assigned accounts by delivering high levels of customer satisfaction and meeting service revenue targets through dependable solutions.
  • Follow established ISO work instructions to perform repair, calibration, certification, and preventative maintenance services for all equipment brands within the portfolio.
  • Respond promptly to customer support calls within your designated territory, ensuring issues are resolved efficiently and empathetically.
  • Develop new customer service or product agreements as needed, fostering long-term relationships built on trust and reliability.
  • Provide instrument operation training to customers when required, sharing knowledge in a considerate and approachable manner.
  • Support Sales and Marketing activities such as trials, demonstrations, exhibitions, and other events that promote products and services.
  • Contribute thoughtfully to strategies aimed at building the reputation of the manufacturer as a provider of outstanding technical and service support.
  • Diagnose system failures accurately and determine cost-effective solutions that prioritise customer needs and resource stewardship.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues across departments to ensure seamless service delivery and uphold the highest standards of safety and quality.

What you bring:

Your proven experience as a Service Engineer (Equipments Industry) or similar technical role will enable you to excel in this position. You bring not only strong technical expertise but also genuine enthusiasm for learning new concepts and sharing knowledge with others. Your interpersonal skills allow you to build rapport easily with customers while responding sensitively to their needs. You are comfortable working independently yet thrive when collaborating within a supportive team environment. With your background in electronics or chemical engineering—and your readiness to travel—you are well-equipped to handle complex challenges while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.   • At least 3 years’ experience working within the equipments industry or a similar technical field where dependability is paramount.
  • A valid driving licence with proven ability to travel on short notice as required by service demands.
  • Diploma or degree in electronics, electrical engineering, chemistry, chemical engineering or related discipline demonstrating solid foundational knowledge.
  • Eagerness to learn new skills quickly with a positive attitude towards ongoing professional development.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills enabling you to interact warmly with customers from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to work independently while prioritising tasks thoughtfully according to urgency and importance.
  • Willingness to collaborate with colleagues across functions for shared success in achieving organisational goals.
