Risk, Control & Compliance Manager

Are you an experienced professional in safety, risk management, and compliance? We are looking for a Safety, Risk & Compliance Manager to join a dynamic shopping centre in Johor.

As the Safety, Risk & Compliance Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the shopping centre operates safely, securely, and in full compliance with local regulations. Your key responsibilities include:

• Monitoring and interpreting regulatory requirements related to safety, security, facilities, car park management, data privacy, business ethics, and environmental standards.
• Implementing risk and compliance working methods, SOPs, tools, and governance routines tailored to local needs.
• Coordinating with leaders, service partners, tenants, and stakeholders to manage licenses, permits, inspections, and corrective actions.
• Leading internal checks (e.g., Sec Check and iConduct) to validate compliance with company rules and local regulations.
• Analyzing incidents and inspection findings to identify root causes and recommend control improvements.
• Preparing training materials to strengthen understanding of safety protocols and compliance obligations among team members.
• Managing outsourced security service providers to ensure performance aligns with contractual obligations.
• Overseeing safety operations such as emergency preparedness, crisis management, fire drills, system testing, and insurance claims handling.

What You’ll Bring

To excel in this role, you should have:

• At least 10 years of experience in safety management or compliance roles within retail or similar industries (Hospital, Hotel, Mixed Development, etc.) (minimum 3 years at a managerial level).
• Expertise in incident reporting processes and claims handling with insurance companies.
• Hands-on experience managing Fire Command Centres (FCC), security guards, fire drills, system testing, fraud investigations, and crisis management.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide teams through strategic planning and goal-setting initiatives.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively across departments and with external stakeholders.
