Food Safety Manager

Our client is a highly respected multinational FMCG food manufacturer with a major, high-speed production facility. They are seeking a resilient, commercially-minded Food Safety Manager to take complete ownership of the site's food safety function and drive a proactive safety culture. This is not a role for a desk-bound auditor; it is a mandate for a true change agent.

Key Responsibilities

• Team Leadership & Capability Building: Direct, mentor, and upskill a focused food safety and hygiene team. You will be expected to transition the team from a reactive mindset to a proactive, audit-ready culture.

• Stakeholder & Production Management: Act as the decisive voice on the factory floor. Collaborate closely with Engineering, Operations, and R&D to manage food safety risks during new product introductions, equipment modifications, and high-pressure production runs.

• Complex Hazard Investigations: Lead comprehensive root-cause analyses (CAPA) for environmental monitoring failures, sanitation breakdowns, or potential contamination events, translating scientific data into practical factory improvements.

• Audit & Regulatory Mastery: Maintain strict governance over internationally recognized standards (FSSC 22000, HACCP, ISO 9001, GMP) and lead the site through unannounced regulatory and customer audits.

• Strategic Risk Assessment: Make tough, data-backed decisions in "grey areas" where data may be conflicting, expertly balancing operational feasibility with absolute consumer safety.
