Remote Service Engineer – NXG

About the Role: We are looking for a Remote Service Engineer (RSE) to support customers using advanced SLM NXG metal 3D printing machines.

Key Responsibilities:

● Install and commission SLM NXG metal additive manufacturing machines at customer sites.
● Perform hands-on mechanical and electrical setup, including precision alignment and electrical connections.
● Establish and support required customer network interfaces.
● Troubleshoot and provide technical support for:

• ○ Mechanical systems
• ○ Electrical systems
• ○ Cooling systems
• ○ Gas systems
• ○ Computer hardware and software

● Perform machine maintenance, adjustments, configuration and software updates.
● Work closely with customer engineers and technical teams during installation, commissioning and ongoing operation.
● Provide Level 1 system training to customers on machine and peripheral equipment operation.
● Analyse technical issues and work with the SLM Customer Service team to identify solutions.
● Provide regular updates to customers and the Service Manager regarding installation, repair progress and timelines.
● Attend customer meetings relating to installation, repair and service activities.
● Provide technical and operational advice to customers.
● Work closely with the Head of Service, APAC and regional service teams.
● Travel to customer locations within Malaysia and occasionally internationally when required.

Requirements:

● Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience in engineering, field service, maintenance, equipment, automation, manufacturing or a related technical environment.
● Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in:

• ○ Mechanical Engineering
• ○ Electrical / Electronic Engineering
• ○ Automation Technology
• ○ Additive Manufacturing
• ○ Or a related field / equivalent practical experience.

● Hands-on experience troubleshooting industrial machinery or equipment.
● Strong mechanical and/or electrical troubleshooting skills.
● Experience setting up and troubleshooting computer hardware and software.
● Ability to read and understand electrical schematics.
● Experience with automation systems in a manufacturing environment is an advantage.
● Experience in 3D printing / additive manufacturing, particularly Metal Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF), is an advantage.
● CAD software knowledge is preferred.
● Good English communication skills, both written and spoken.
● Good interpersonal and customer-facing skills.
● Comfortable working independently and under pressure.
● Willing to travel within Malaysia and internationally when required.
