What you'll do:

In the esteemed capacity of Technical Presales Solution Architect based in Batu Kawan, Penang, you shall be immersed in the domain of industrial automation by guiding clients through every phase of solution development. Your daily undertakings will involve conducting meticulous site assessments alongside interactive workshops designed to uncover operational inefficiencies before translating these findings into pragmatic system designs that accommodate both present demands and future growth. You will employ your proficiency in AutoCAD for layout generation while leveraging simulation tools such as Visual Components to validate your architectural concepts. Close cooperation with Sales teams ensures that your solutions are not only technically robust but also commercially compelling. You will be responsible for preparing detailed proposals that delineate scope and costings whilst supporting client-facing presentations that demonstrate your ability to communicate complex ideas with clarity. • Direct technical discovery processes including comprehensive site surveys, requirements analysis, technical consultations, and solution workshops to ascertain client objectives.
• Engage with clients to discern operational challenges, process workflows, technical specifications, throughput expectations, capacity planning considerations, and future scalability needs.
• Translate client requirements into structured technical frameworks and holistic system architectures tailored to each unique engagement.
• Devise automation and smart manufacturing solution concepts encompassing systems such as Automated Storage & Retrieval Systems (ASRS), Overhead Hoist Systems (OHS), Material Management Systems (MMS), Warehouse Management/Control Systems (WMS/WCS), material handling equipment, and integrated smart factory platforms.
• Develop preliminary system layouts, process flows, equipment concepts, and architectural designs utilising AutoCAD and other pertinent engineering tools to visualise proposed solutions.
• Conduct detailed throughput analyses, capacity calculations, equipment sizing exercises, and other technical evaluations to substantiate the feasibility of proposed solutions.
• Construct and maintain digital twin models and simulation environments using Visual Components or equivalent platforms in support of key project pursuits and validation activities.
• Collaborate extensively with Sales and Business Development teams to formulate competitive technical solutions aligned with client requirements and commercial imperatives.
• Prepare comprehensive technical proposals including responses to RFQs/tenders, scope of supply documentation, Bill of Materials (BOM), cost structures, margin analyses, technical assumptions/exclusions, delivery parameters, and risk assessments.
• Deliver articulate technical presentations, solution demonstrations, concept reviews, and proof-of-concept sessions to clients, consultants, and stakeholders throughout the sales cycle.

• A Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Automation Engineering, Business or a related discipline is requisite for this position.
• A minimum of five years’ experience in Technical Presales, Solution Engineering or Architecture within industrial automation or system integration environments is essential.
• Demonstrable experience preparing technical proposals for RFQs/tenders together with expertise in developing Bills of Materials (BOM) and detailed costings is highly regarded.
• Practical experience designing or supporting solutions involving ASRS/OHS/MMS/WMS/WCS/material handling/smart factory systems is expected.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD for two-dimensional system layouts is mandatory; familiarity with three-dimensional concept design tools would be advantageous.
• Experience constructing digital twin or simulation models using Visual Components or analogous platforms such as FlexSim/Emulate3D/Demo3D is preferred.
• Working knowledge of WMS/WCS/MES concepts along with awareness of SECS/GEM requirements for semiconductor manufacturing environments is beneficial.
• Understanding IT/OT integration technologies including OPC UA/MQTT/REST/API concepts/SQL for data verification enhances your candidacy.
