Role Overview

As a Senior Electronic Engineer, you will take technical ownership of electrical design projects for cutting-edge laboratory instruments. You will play a pivotal role in driving the development and enhancement of advanced laboratory automation devices used globally. Working within a collaborative and supportive team, you will contribute to continuous improvement initiatives while balancing technical excellence with cost-effective design strategies.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design projects for automated laboratory devices from concept generation through implementation.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to analyse system requirements and develop innovative hardware solutions using CAE tools.
• Design and integrate embedded systems, control systems, sensors, and hardware architecture to enhance product functionality.
• Prepare detailed technical specifications, reports, and documentation to communicate design concepts effectively across stakeholders.
• Troubleshoot and debug complex issues during the product lifecycle while maintaining high-quality standards.
• Conduct research into emerging technologies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within hardware engineering best practices
• Present technical information confidently to engineering teams, fostering knowledge sharing and collaborative problem-solving sessions.
• Implement product development processes with a focus on design-to-cost principles, ensuring products meet both technical requirements and budget constraints.
• Simplify technical solutions without compromising performance or reliability to enhance functional aspects of products.

Qualifications & Skills
To excel in this role, you should bring:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent academic credentials.
• 6–8+ years of experience in instrument or module development—ideally within laboratory automation or related industries.
• Proficiency in PCB Design tools, such as Altium Designer, for delivering precise electronic designs efficiently.
• Programming skills in Lua, Python, or C++, enabling effective contribution to embedded system projects.
• Strong understanding of electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) principles for robust product development outcomes.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English (and German preferred) for clear idea presentation across multicultural teams.
• Ability to create detailed technical specifications and reports showcasing organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Deep knowledge of hardware architecture with a focus on interfaces for seamless integration between components.
• A positive attitude that fosters collaboration within teams and contributes to a culture of learning and innovation.
