What you'll do:
As a Finance and Administration Specialist, you will play an integral part in supporting both day-to-day financial operations and broader administrative initiatives for the Kuala Lumpur office.
- Provide comprehensive finance and accounting support to the Singapore-based finance team, ensuring seamless cross-border collaboration.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, including monthly reconciliations and timely payment processing to maintain accurate financial records.
- Assist with corporate accounting tasks such as general ledger maintenance, journal entries, and month-end closing activities to uphold robust financial controls.
- Support fund accounting activities as required, offering assistance even if prior experience in this area is not mandatory but considered advantageous.
- Maintain meticulous financial records by ensuring all data entry and reporting are completed accurately and on schedule.
- Liaise effectively with external vendors, auditors, and service providers to facilitate smooth business operations and compliance requirements.
- Contribute actively to establishing local administrative processes and systems as part of setting up the new Kuala Lumpur office.
- Provide reliable support on ad hoc finance and administrative tasks as directed by the Head of Finance based in Singapore.
- Collaborate with regional teams to foster strong working relationships across different locations.
- Demonstrate adaptability by taking initiative in a start-up or lean team environment, contributing positively to office culture.
What you bring:
To thrive as a Finance and Administration Specialist, you will bring proven experience gained through several years working within accounting or finance operations—ideally within sectors such as asset management or private equity.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline demonstrating solid academic grounding relevant to this field.
- 5–8 years of hands-on experience in accounting or finance operations within professional environments.
- Thorough understanding of accounts receivable/payable processes alongside practical knowledge of corporate accounting principles.
- Prior exposure to fund accounting or experience within asset management/private equity settings would be highly regarded though not essential.
- Proven ability to work dependably both independently and collaboratively within small or start-up teams where flexibility is key.
- Exceptional attention to detail coupled with strong organisational skills that ensure accuracy across all tasks undertaken.
- Excellent communication abilities enabling effective liaison with regional colleagues as well as external vendors or service providers.
- Demonstrated initiative-taking approach suited for evolving environments where new processes are being established.
- Willingness to participate fully in training programmes abroad (notably one month in Singapore) as part of onboarding commitment.
- Leadership potential evidenced by readiness to grow into roles overseeing local finance/admin functions as the office expands.
