VP, Strategy (Financial Services)

A leading financial institution is seeking a Vice President, Strategy to join their Group Strategy & Transformation division. This role offers you the opportunity to play a pivotal part in driving bank-wide transformation initiatives, collaborating with diverse teams across business and technology functions. You will be at the heart of strategic planning, programme governance, and operational excellence, ensuring that key projects are delivered efficiently and effectively.

What you'll do:

• Coordinate end-to-end execution of multiple strategic initiatives by managing cross-functional activities across Credit, Operations, Risk, IT, and Data teams.
• Track deliverables across various workstreams to ensure alignment with overall programme plans and timely completion of objectives.
• Support senior leadership in driving transformation projects such as AI adoption, automation implementation, and process redesign.
• Facilitate effective communication and coordination between business units and technology teams during project implementation phases.
• Drive programme governance processes including SteerCo meetings, working groups, status reviews, and structured reporting.
• Prepare comprehensive programme updates, dashboards, and reporting materials for stakeholders at all levels.
• Ensure structured tracking of risks, issues, and action items while escalating key concerns or decision points promptly to senior management.
• Act as the central coordination point for stakeholders across business functions to foster alignment on priorities and deliverables.
• Promote collaborative teamwork by supporting alignment on timelines and goals across multiple departments involved in transformation initiatives.

What you bring:

• Strong programme coordination skills with proven experience managing stakeholder relationships across diverse teams.
• Excellent organisational abilities combined with multi-tasking capability to handle several workstreams simultaneously.
• Advanced analytical skills paired with problem-solving aptitude to address complex challenges within transformation projects.
• Effective communication and presentation skills suitable for engaging senior stakeholders throughout project lifecycles.
• Ability to drive alignment across teams by fostering cooperation and understanding among business units.
• Good understanding of banking operations or credit processes gained from previous roles within financial services or consulting environments.
• Familiarity with digital innovation, automation technologies, or AI-related initiatives is considered advantageous for this position.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Banking or equivalent qualification demonstrating academic rigour relevant to the industry.
• 8–12 years of relevant experience in banking, consulting or transformation roles involving programme management or PMO responsibilities.
• Exposure to large-scale strategic initiatives or cross-functional project coordination within financial institutions is highly desirable.
