Assistant Finance Manager
Support the Financial Controller in overseeing financial operations, reporting, month-end closing, financial analysis, statutory compliance and internal controls. The ideal candidate should possess strong technical accounting, leadership and problem-solving skills, with the ability to lead a finance team, collaborate effectively across functions and support strategic business decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the day-to-day finance and accounting operations to ensure accurate, timely and compliant financial reporting.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, including the preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations and financial reports.
- Review and monitor daily sales settlements across multiple payment channels, including e-wallets, payment gateways and bank transfers, ensuring timely reconciliation and resolution of discrepancies.
- Verify the accuracy and completeness of daily financial transactions and ensure accounting entries are recorded in accordance with company policies and applicable accounting standards.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations, investigate outstanding reconciling items and follow up on long-outstanding balances.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders, business units, banks and external service providers to resolve settlement, payment and reconciliation issues.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, tax regulations and statutory requirements while identifying opportunities to improve processes and operational efficiency.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing relevant schedules, reconciliations and supporting documentation.
- Maintain accurate and well-organised financial records in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in finance system enhancements, automation initiatives and continuous process improvement projects.
- Perform other finance, accounting and ad hoc responsibilities as assigned by the Financial Controller.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy, Finance or a related discipline; professional qualifications such as ACCA are preferred.
- At least 5–6 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably gained in an accounting firm, corporate finance or taxation environment.
- Good understanding of accounting principles and bank reconciliation processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
