What you'll do:

As Head of Finance based in Kuala Lumpur, you will play an instrumental role in guiding the organisation’s overall financial direction.

• Lead strategic financial planning processes by setting clear objectives for budgeting, forecasting, and long-term resource allocation across the organisation.
• Ensure all financial reporting is accurate, timely, and fully compliant with statutory requirements as well as local regulatory frameworks.
• Drive comprehensive financial controls encompassing tax planning, risk management, and internal audit functions to safeguard organisational assets.
• Partner with business units to support cost control measures, profitability analysis, and ongoing performance management initiatives.
• Provide insightful financial analysis and decision support to senior leadership teams and board members for informed strategic choices.
• Coach, mentor, and develop a team of 23 finance professionals by promoting engagement, continuous learning, and a strong culture of accountability.
• Oversee key finance-driven projects such as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) upgrades, e-Invoice rollouts, SST compliance efforts, and M&A activities while ensuring effective cost tracking and ROI analysis.
• Champion ongoing financial transformation by identifying opportunities for system enhancements and process improvements that increase efficiency and accuracy.
• Collaborate effectively with regulators, external auditors, tax agents, and other stakeholders to maintain transparent communication channels.

What you bring:

To excel as Head of Finance in this prominent institution, you will bring extensive experience managing large-scale finance operations within regulated environments.

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent qualification is essential for this position.
• Professional certification such as CPA, ACCA or CIMA is required to demonstrate technical proficiency.
• A minimum of ten years’ experience in finance roles with at least five years spent in senior leadership positions within complex organisations.
• Comprehensive understanding of financial reporting standards including MRFS/IFRS as well as local regulatory requirements such as BNM guidelines and tax legislation.
• Proven project management skills with experience overseeing cross-functional initiatives like ERP implementations or M&A activities.
• Demonstrated ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders including regulators, auditors, tax agents, senior executives, and board members.
• Strong governance capabilities combined with a track record of implementing robust internal controls across all areas of finance.
• Experience working within financial services or other highly regulated industries is preferred for this role.
• Exceptional communication skills enabling you to translate complex financial information into clear recommendations for non-financial audiences.
