An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled Assistant Tax Manager to join a leading organisation in Banting. What you'll do:

As an Assistant Tax Manager, your role will be pivotal in maintaining the financial integrity of the organisation. You will be responsible for reviewing tax computations and returns, liaising with accountants and tax agents, and assisting in the implementation of e-invoice systems. Your expertise will also be required in preparing transfer pricing documentation, supporting tax administration tasks, and staying abreast of current local tax legislation. This role offers a unique opportunity to apply your analytical skills in solving complex tax issues while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

  • Review tax computations and tax returns for various companies within the Group
  • Liaise with accountants and tax agents to obtain necessary information for statutory tax compliance
  • Assist in the compliance and implementation of e-invoice systems to streamline tax processes
  • Work closely with plant accountants to prepare and review transfer pricing documentation
  • Support tax administration tasks such as obtaining tax refunds, managing tax appeals, and responding to tax queries from authorities
  • Stay updated on current local tax legislation and practices to ensure compliance and provide timely advice to the organisation

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Assistant Tax Manager position will bring a wealth of knowledge and experience in accounting and taxation. You should hold a Diploma/Bachelor Degree in Accounting or a professional Accounting qualification such as ACCA/CPA/CIMA/LCCI. With 1-3 years of relevant working experience under your belt, preferably within the manufacturing industry or public accounting firm, you are well-equipped to take on this role. Your ability to interact effectively with internal and external parties coupled with your analytical thinking skills will be crucial in this role. Knowledge of the SAP system would be advantageous.

  • Diploma / Bachelor Degree in Accounting / professional Accounting qualification in ACCA / CPA / CIMA / LCCI or relevant
  • 1-3 years of relevant working experience in taxation (preferably in manufacturing industry or public accounting firm)
  • Ability to interact and communicate effectively with internal and external parties
  • Analytical and critical thinking skills with strong attention to detail
  • Knowledge in SAP system is advantageous
  • Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia, both written and spoken
