What you'll do:
- Supervise the Record to Report (RTR) team to ensure accurate and timely delivery of all general accounting, reporting, fixed assets management, in line with established service level agreements.
- Oversee journal postings, general ledger maintenance, preparation of financial reports, reconciliations, and submission of tax documentation while adhering strictly to group policies and procedures.
- Coordinate the reconciliation processes between various financial systems to maintain data integrity and compliance with internal controls.
- Provide expert RTR-related advice and information to colleagues throughout the organisation whenever required to support business objectives.
- Monitor outstanding issues escalated by the team or stakeholders, taking responsibility for resolution or further escalation as necessary to ensure smooth operations.
- Liaise effectively with both internal teams and external partners or auditors as needed to facilitate seamless communication and resolve queries promptly.
- Champion best practices within the RTR function by proactively identifying areas for process enhancement and implementing continuous improvement initiatives that drive operational excellence.
- Fulfil people management responsibilities including planning and assigning tasks, conducting performance appraisals, coaching team members, and supporting their professional development.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant statutory requirements and internal policies through diligent oversight of daily operations within the RTR domain.
What you bring:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field complemented by a recognised professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA or MIA is required for this position.
- At least 10 years of proven experience in General Ledger operations within large-scale organisations or shared service environments is essential.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience supervising teams in finance operations is necessary to ensure effective people management skills are brought into this role.
- Demonstrated expertise in using ERP systems for financial processing is highly valued given the complexity of transactions managed by the team.
- Fluency in written and spoken English is crucial for clear communication across regional teams and stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal skills are needed to foster positive relationships within your team as well as with other departments across the business.
- A collaborative approach is vital for working effectively within a communal environment that values knowledge sharing and mutual support.
- Proactive problem-solving abilities are important for identifying process gaps and implementing sustainable improvements that benefit overall operations.
- Experience working within shared service centres will be advantageous due to familiarity with multi-entity structures and cross-border transactions.
