What you'll do:
- Maintain general ledger accounts by preparing, reviewing, and approving journals to ensure all entries are valid, accurate, and complete.
- Perform reconciliation of financial data recorded in the general ledger against appropriate supporting documentation, ensuring all balance sheet accounts are up-to-date.
- Review and validate Capex-related purchase requisitions to align with group policy and procedures, ensuring compliance at every stage.
- Conduct regular reviews of bank open items to facilitate timely reconciliation and follow up on any discrepancies identified during the process.
- Monitor reporting of fixed assets and intercompany transactions in collaboration with shared service centres and local finance teams for seamless operations.
- Support cash management activities by performing internal and external banking transactions efficiently and accurately.
- Manage IFRS 16 reporting including reviewing, maintaining, and modifying lease contracts in the database as well as embedded lease reporting requirements.
- Update and maintain period-end and year-end closing schedules for countries within scope to ensure timeliness and completeness of financial reporting.
- Implement effective Internal Control Systems (ICS) by conducting assigned controls daily, creating evidence as per policy requirements.
- Deliver processes within scope according to agreed KPI requirements while supporting performance management initiatives.
What you bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field is required for this position.
- Minimum four years’ experience in Record to Report (RTR) functions within a corporate environment is essential.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles as well as financial reporting standards such as IFRS is necessary.
- Excellent analytical skills including the ability to analyse financial data, identify trends, and provide meaningful insights are required.
- Outstanding organisational abilities coupled with clear communication skills enable effective collaboration across teams.
- Experience using Oracle Cloud would be advantageous but not mandatory for this role.
- Adaptability combined with a willingness to learn especially in environments that value flexibility is highly regarded.
- Demonstrated teamwork through active engagement with colleagues sharing knowledge generously is expected.
- Proven track record in supporting audit activities both internally and externally adds value to your application.
- Ability to provide comprehensive training sessions for new joiners on accounting processes demonstrates nurturing qualities.
