A leading global organisation is seeking a Senior Associate, RTR (Accounting & Reporting) to join their Kuala Lumpur team. This role offers the opportunity to act as a key subject-matter expert for Record-to-Report (RTR) / Book-to-Close (B2C) accounting activities, including GL Accounting, month-end closing, internal reporting, statutory audit support, and external reporting.

You will independently manage complex accounting tasks while ensuring delivery in accordance with SLAs, KPIs, work instructions, and internal controls. What you'll do:

As a Senior Associate, RTR (Accounting & Reporting), you will play a key role in managing end-to-end RTR accounting activities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery of financial reporting requirements.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Execute daily and monthly RTR activities including journal entries, recurring journals, account reconciliations, accruals, and month-end closing activities.
• Support statutory audits by coordinating audit requirements, preparing supporting documentation, and responding to auditor queries.
• Ensure accuracy of financial postings through review of supporting documents, reconciliations, and closing activities.
• Perform root-cause analysis on accounting issues and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and support standardisation initiatives within RTR processes.
• Participate in system testing, process enhancement projects, and change management activities.
• Update SOPs, control matrices, and process documentation when required.
• Support user training and knowledge sharing within the RTR team.
• Act as a subject matter expert by providing guidance on accounting workflows, closing activities, and audit readiness.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Senior Associate, RTR (Accounting & Reporting) role should have experience in accounting operations, preferably within a global shared services environment.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or related disciplines.
• 3–5 years of experience in RTR, GL Accounting, month-end closing, statutory audit support, or financial operations.
• Strong understanding of GL Accounting principles and financial reporting processes.
• Experience supporting statutory audits and external reporting requirements under IFRS/GAAP.
• Hands-on experience with SAP FI or similar ERP systems (SAP S/4HANA, Trintech Cadency, OneStream experience is advantageous).
• Strong account reconciliation and variance analysis skills with advanced Excel proficiency.
• Good understanding of internal controls and compliance requirements.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills with the ability to work with internal teams and external auditors.
• Analytical mindset with a passion for process improvement and operational excellence.
