What you'll do:
- Calculate the cost of Bill of Materials (BOM) while maintaining an organised and systematic product structure to ensure accuracy in cost allocation.
- Liaise closely with production and purchasing teams to gather essential cost-related information, fostering effective communication across departments.
- Compute costs for customer quotations by reviewing product pricing against actual costs and profitability metrics to support informed business decisions.
- Create, maintain, and update product costs—including product codes, BOMs, costs, and selling prices—in the ERP system promptly to reflect current data.
- Prepare detailed periodic and ad-hoc costing reports for management and governmental bodies, including thorough analysis of any fluctuations or anomalies.
- Conduct variance analysis by comparing standard costs against actual costs, identifying inaccuracies, and proposing actionable improvement plans.
- Support physical inventory counts on an ad-hoc, quarterly, and annual basis to ensure inventory records are accurate and up-to-date.
- Investigate discrepancies in inventory counts or movements by collaborating with relevant teams to resolve issues efficiently.
- Assist in budget preparation activities related to costing matters by providing accurate data and insightful analysis as required by management.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Costing Lead or Chief Financial Officer to contribute positively to departmental objectives.
What you bring:
- Willingness to work onsite at the manufacturing factory located in Nilai, Negeri Sembilan as part of a dedicated finance team.
- Possession of an Advanced Diploma or Degree in Cost Management, Accounting or Accountancy from a recognised institution.
- At least three years of hands-on experience in cost accounting within the manufacturing industry, demonstrating familiarity with industry-specific challenges.
- Proficiency in using accounting software packages as well as ERP systems for managing complex costing data efficiently.
- Exceptional analytical skills combined with resourcefulness, organisational ability, meticulous attention to detail, responsibility, excellent problem-solving capabilities, and commitment to meeting deadlines consistently.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team setting while also being capable of working independently with minimal supervision when required; adept at managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills that enable clear reporting and effective interaction with colleagues across departments.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications—including Excel (with formulas and pivot tables), Word, and PowerPoint—for data analysis and presentation purposes.
- Experience participating in ERP implementation projects is considered an added advantage that will set you apart from other candidates.
