By leading the development of essential tools such as risk registers and heat maps—and by monitoring both internal developments and external trends—you will help shape proactive responses that protect the organisation’s interests. Your ability to communicate complex information clearly will be vital when preparing reports for executive audiences. In addition to supporting major projects through thorough risk assessments, you will also play an important part in business continuity planning. Success in this role means not only meeting regulatory standards but also building strong relationships across departments so that everyone feels supported in managing risks together.
- Develop comprehensive Enterprise Risk Management frameworks, policies, and procedures tailored to the organisation’s needs from inception through ongoing maintenance.
- Identify, assess, and monitor key risks—including strategic, operational, reputational, financial, and legal—across all business units and functions.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to define the organisation’s risk appetite and ensure alignment of risk management strategies with overall objectives.
- Facilitate engaging risk workshops and training sessions aimed at raising awareness and nurturing a positive risk culture throughout the organisation.
- Lead the creation and upkeep of detailed risk registers, control self-assessments, and visually informative risk heat maps.
- Monitor emerging risks as well as industry trends, proactively recommending actions to mitigate potential impacts on the business.
- Prepare regular reports on risk matters for senior management, the Risk Committee, and the Board of Directors to inform decision-making processes.
- Work closely with internal audit, compliance, legal, and other control functions to ensure coordinated efforts in managing risks effectively.
- Lead or provide support for risk assessments related to major initiatives such as strategic projects, acquisitions, or entry into new markets.
- Support business continuity planning activities and contribute to crisis management efforts to safeguard organisational resilience.
- Ensure full compliance with relevant regulatory requirements pertaining to risk management frameworks such as ISO 31000, COSO ERM, Basel III, SOX, or others as applicable.
What you bring:
To excel as a Risk Manager in this setting you will bring substantial experience in developing enterprise-level frameworks that address a wide spectrum of risks. Your background should include hands-on involvement in both policy creation and practical implementation—ideally within large-scale or multi-faceted organisations. You are adept at building rapport across teams; your collaborative approach ensures that everyone feels included when it comes to understanding their responsibilities around risk. Your facilitation skills allow you to deliver engaging workshops that make complex topics accessible for all participants. You have demonstrated proficiency in preparing concise yet comprehensive reports for high-level stakeholders who rely on your insights for informed decision-making. Familiarity with international standards such as ISO 31000 or COSO ERM is essential; you know how these translate into real-world practices that keep organisations compliant while remaining agile. Experience supporting business continuity plans further highlights your commitment to safeguarding operations under any circumstances. Above all else you are motivated by helping others succeed—your empathy ensures that every voice is heard when it comes time to manage challenges together.
