An esteemed organisation in Petaling Jaya is seeking a Senior Risk Manager to join their Group Risk Management team. This pivotal role offers you the opportunity to shape and enhance risk management practices across the business, working closely with senior leadership to foster a culture of risk awareness and resilience. You will play a key part in developing and refining risk frameworks, policies, and methodologies, while also leading business continuity initiatives that ensure operational stability. The organisation values your expertise and commitment to continuous improvement, offering a supportive environment where your insights will directly influence strategic decisions.
What you'll do:
As Senior Risk Manager based in Petaling Jaya, you will be instrumental in driving the evolution of group-wide risk management practices. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve collaborating with various departments to review existing frameworks, develop new methodologies, and implement best-in-class systems that underpin effective risk identification and mitigation. You will facilitate regular updates of risk registers—both routine quarterly reviews and more comprehensive annual workshops—ensuring that all significant threats are captured and addressed. In addition to coordinating process improvement projects from a risk perspective, you will champion educational initiatives that embed a culture of awareness throughout the organisation. Your expertise will be called upon to advise senior leaders on emerging issues while also leading business continuity planning efforts that protect critical operations. By preparing insightful reports for board-level audiences and engaging with stakeholders at every level, you will help ensure that robust controls are maintained across all facets of the business.
- Review, recommend, and enhance the organisation’s risk management roadmap, policy framework, methodology, and supporting systems to ensure they remain effective and relevant.
- Promote a risk-aware culture by providing ongoing education, briefings, and tailored training programmes for staff at all levels of the business.
- Coordinate quarterly updates of risk registers to ensure that all significant risks are identified, reviewed, assessed, and documented accurately as the organisation’s profile evolves.
- Oversee annual reviews of risk registers by facilitating workshops with senior management to assess current risks and monitor the status of treatment plans.
- Lead periodic top-down reviews of risk registers from a fresh perspective to identify new or evolving risks and ensure comprehensive coverage across all business units.
- Participate in or coordinate process improvement projects, capital expenditure proposals, and investment assessments by conducting thorough risk evaluations alongside project teams.
- Support the implementation of remediation strategies for identified risks by assisting with the development and execution of improvement initiatives across departments.
- Provide ongoing advice and timely reports to senior management regarding emerging risk issues throughout the organisation to support informed decision-making.
- Investigate industry trends and emerging risks through research and analysis, advising management on potential impacts and recommended actions where appropriate.
- Assist in deriving key risk indicators (KRIs), collating KRI data, and preparing detailed reports for presentation to senior management and other stakeholders as required.
