What you'll do:
As a Consolidation Accountant and Assistant Manager based in Kuala Lumpur, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing all aspects of group consolidation for a multi-entity organisation. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve managing the entire consolidation cycle—from gathering data from subsidiaries to preparing consolidated financial statements that meet stringent accounting standards. You will be instrumental in performing complex adjustments such as intercompany eliminations and foreign exchange calculations while ensuring compliance with MFRS/IFRS. By reviewing submissions from various business units, you will guarantee accuracy and completeness in group reporting. Your expertise will also be called upon when supporting management report preparation for senior leaders or assisting external auditors during annual audits. In addition to technical tasks, you will nurture collaborative relationships across finance teams, helping them submit timely information while resolving any discrepancies that arise. - Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual group consolidation process across various subsidiaries and business units, ensuring timely completion and compliance with internal deadlines.
- Prepare consolidated financial statements and comprehensive group reporting packages in accordance with relevant accounting standards such as MFRS and IFRS.
- Perform detailed consolidation adjustments including intercompany eliminations, foreign exchange adjustments, non-controlling interests (NCI), and other necessary consolidation entries.
- Review financial information submitted by subsidiaries to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to group reporting requirements.
- Support the preparation of management reports and group financial reports for senior management, providing clear insights into financial performance.
- Assist in the preparation of annual financial statements and coordinate with external auditors during the audit process to facilitate smooth audits.
- Monitor compliance with MFRS / IFRS as well as other applicable accounting and reporting requirements throughout the consolidation process.
- Review accounting treatments for complex transactions and provide technical support on challenging accounting matters to subsidiary teams.
- Identify discrepancies arising during the consolidation process and resolve them efficiently through collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
- Work closely with finance teams across subsidiaries and business units to ensure timely submission of reporting information and foster strong inter-personal connections.

- Prior experience in group consolidation, financial reporting or audit within a corporate or commercial environment is essential.
