What you'll do:

As a Senior Executive Group Consolidation based in Kuala Lumpur, you will be entrusted with responsibilities that are central to the organisation’s financial health. Your day-to-day activities will involve collaborating closely with subsidiary accountants to gather accurate data for group consolidation processes. You will prepare intricate group journals and resolve intercompany balances through effective communication. Your role extends to supporting audit preparations by drafting comprehensive notes on key financial areas such as assets, investments, borrowings, and provisions. Monthly management reporting and annual budget preparation will see you interacting with top management, providing them with essential information for strategic decisions. Liaising with auditors forms another crucial aspect of your work, ensuring compliance and transparency throughout the financial statement preparation process. Success in this role requires attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills, and a commitment to maintaining high standards even when working beyond regular hours.

  • Assist in the group consolidation process as well as sub-group consolidations by inputting data accurately and preparing complex group journals such as intercompany elimination journals.
  • Resolve intercompany balance discrepancies by communicating effectively with subsidiary accountants to ensure all inter-company disputes are addressed promptly.
  • Prepare detailed proofing workings for translation reserve proofing and non-controlling interest proofing, ensuring all figures are meticulously checked for accuracy.
  • Support the preparation of Group financial statements for audit purposes, including drafting complex notes related to property, plant and equipment, investment properties, borrowings, and provision for liabilities.
  • Compile monthly consolidation management reports for top management, providing clear insights into financial performance across the group.
  • Develop yearly consolidated budgets for top management, ensuring all relevant data is gathered and analysed thoroughly.
  • Communicate regularly with subsidiary accountants to obtain accounts on a monthly basis, reviewing submissions carefully and highlighting any discrepancies or issues.
  • Liaise with auditors during the preparation of Group financial statements, facilitating smooth communication and timely resolution of queries.
  • Demonstrate flexibility by working beyond office hours when required to meet critical deadlines or resolve urgent matters.
