Looking for talent in commercial finance, FP&A and operations / supply chain finance in manufacturing; food industry preferred

COMMERCIAL FINANCE MANAGER
Location: Balakong/ Klang

We are partnering with several food manufacturing companies to recruit Commercial Finance Managers who will drive profitable growth, enhance cost competitiveness, and support strategic financial decision-making.

What you'll do:

• Take ownership of business P&L performance by monitoring profitability and key financial KPIs, ensuring alignment with budget, forecast, and prior year results.
• Identify critical financial risks and opportunities within the business and translate them into actionable recommendations for management.
• Collaborate closely with commercial stakeholders to drive profitable growth and improve overall financial outcomes through effective partnership.
• Analyse monthly P&L performance, explaining key variances, trends, and business drivers to provide clear commentary that supports management decision-making.
• Proactively identify emerging risks, opportunities, and areas requiring corrective action based on thorough financial review and business insights.
• Prepare and review promotion P&L statements including volume, sales, trade investment, and profitability assumptions to evaluate promotional activities from a financial perspective.
• Assess trade spend effectiveness by analysing ROI and identifying opportunities to enhance investment efficiency in partnership with Sales and Marketing teams.
• Support post-promotion evaluation processes by translating learnings into future planning for improved commercial discipline.
• Develop robust financial models and scenario analyses to support strategic decisions related to new initiatives, pricing strategies, promotions, investments, and business opportunities.
• Drive forecasting and budgeting processes by developing sound financial assumptions in collaboration with stakeholders while monitoring forecast accuracy and identifying gaps or risks.

What you bring:

• Possession of professional accountancy qualifications such as ACCA, CPA or CIMA (or equivalent), evidencing robust foundational knowledge in accounting principles pertinent to commercial finance roles.
• A minimum of 8 years experience across commercial finance functions including Financial Planning & Analysis as well as operations or supply chain finance within manufacturing environments; experience within the food industry is highly advantageous.
• Advanced understanding of pricing strategies, margin analysis techniques, customer profitability assessment frameworks together with product costing methodologies tailored for operational performance evaluation.
• Willing to work onsite at Klang / Balakong area (either one).
