Senior Manager FP&A (FMCG)

A leading orgainsation within the Food & Beverage sector is seeking a Senior Manager Financial Planning and Analysis to join their team in Malaysia. What you'll do:

As Senior Manager Financial Planning and Analysis for Southeast Asia, your day-to-day responsibilities will involve leading comprehensive financial analyses that inform key business decisions across multiple markets.

• Lead financial performance analysis for Southeast Asia by partnering with business units to support achievement of Net Sales, EBITDA, and Free Cash Flow targets through insightful variable-margin analysis.
• Drive the planning, forecasting, and reporting cycle including Strategic Plan, Annual Operating Plan (AOP), projections, and timely regional submissions while maintaining accurate month-end reporting.
• Strengthen P&L reporting by implementing meaningful segmentation across market, customer, category, and SKU to improve adoption of standardised reporting practices throughout Southeast Asia entities.
• Enhance visibility and control over trade spend and marketing expenditure by monitoring accruals, closure status, budget performance, and collaborating with Commercial teams on pricing strategies.
• Provide robust financial analysis for new product development (NPD), cost-saving initiatives, business expansion projects, profitability simulations, gross-margin improvement efforts, and investment gate documentation.
• Drive discipline in MSG&A cost management by conducting regular reviews with senior business partners to identify early cost-out opportunities and support resource allocation decisions.
• Respond promptly to audit requests and ad hoc analysis requirements while simplifying recurring reports through process standardisation and automation initiatives.
• Champion improvements in data quality by leveraging analytics tools to strengthen financial controls across the region.
• Support commercial finance activities by offering recommendations on revenue recognition and profitability decisions in partnership with cross-functional teams.

What you bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business; professional qualification such as ACCA or CPA is preferred for candidates seeking advancement.
• Substantial experience in FP&A or commercial finance roles within multi-market FMCG or consumer-goods organisations is essential for understanding complex regional dynamics.
• Deep knowledge of P&L structures including Net Sales, EBITDA, Free Cash Flow metrics as well as variable margin analysis is required for effective decision-making.
• Advanced analytical skills coupled with strong Excel proficiency; experience working with ERP systems plus planning or business-intelligence tools is highly valued.
• Exceptional business partnering abilities including presentation skills; capacity to influence constructively within a regional matrix environment is crucial for success.
• Strong interpersonal skills enabling effective collaboration across departments; willingness to share knowledge ensures communal growth.
