What you'll do:

  • Prepare and present accurate and timely financial statements and reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements to support business transparency.
  • Support the budgeting and forecasting processes by collaborating closely with regional finance teams to ensure effective preparation and monitoring of budgets.
  • Assist in the monthly financial reporting process by conducting variance analysis and preparing management reports that inform strategic decisions.
  • Utilise financial analysis techniques to provide actionable insights and recommendations that drive growth and profitability within the Malaysian market.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments to identify opportunities for process improvements, streamline financial reporting procedures, and develop robust financial controls.
  • Follow guidance from regional finance leadership regarding all aspects of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis while providing regular updates on progress.
  • Ensure consistency in financial reporting standards across the organisation by working hand-in-hand with regional counterparts.
  • Maintain strict compliance with local laws and regulations related to finance and accounting, including tax obligations and statutory reporting requirements.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders as well as external partners such as auditors and tax advisors to facilitate smooth operations.
  • Support ad-hoc projects or initiatives led by either local or regional finance teams or headquarters’ business management department as required.

What you bring:

  • A degree or diploma in Finance, Accountancy, Business Studies or an equivalent qualification demonstrating foundational knowledge of core principles.
  • At least two years of experience in a financial planning and analysis role within a complex organisational structure.
  • A thorough understanding of finance and accounting principles coupled with practical experience applying these concepts in daily work.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel enabling you to manage large datasets efficiently for reporting purposes.
  • Experience working within global organisations with familiarity around international accounting standards which supports seamless cross-border collaboration.
  • Excellent communication skills allowing you to explain complex information clearly while building rapport across diverse teams.
  • Strong interpersonal abilities fostering positive working relationships both internally among colleagues and externally with partners such as auditors or tax advisors.
  • Previous exposure to retail industries—particularly fashion (apparel/footwear) or cosmetics—which would be highly advantageous for understanding sector-specific challenges.
