What you'll do:

As Financial Controller based in Selangor, you will immerse yourself in a multifaceted role that bridges strategic advisory with hands-on operational excellence. Your day-to-day responsibilities will see you collaborating closely with senior executives to align business objectives with sound financial goals. You will take ownership of comprehensive reporting cycles—monthly and annually—ensuring all regional entities meet stringent compliance requirements while delivering insightful analysis that informs key decisions. Your expertise will be crucial in guiding project accounting practices; from accurate cost provisioning to risk mitigation around payments and warranties. In addition to managing treasury operations—including FX risk management—you will play a vital part in optimising working capital across diverse markets. By championing process improvements aligned with group policies and mentoring finance professionals throughout the region, you will help build a resilient finance function capable of supporting ambitious growth strategies. Your ability to prepare compelling board presentations will further enhance your influence at the highest levels of the organisation.

• Serve as a core member of the leadership team, providing expert advice on all financial matters to support decision-making and strategic planning.
• Actively participate in the Group Finance Leadership Team to ensure seamless implementation of group-wide financial initiatives
• Lead monthly and yearly financial reporting processes for all regional entities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with global standards.
• Oversee planning and management accounting activities including forecasting, budgeting, cost control, expense management, and performance tracking against defined targets.
• Supervise project accounting functions by ensuring correct provisions for cost-to-complete, managing liabilities for non-conformance or warranties, and mitigating payment or process risks.
• Develop robust structures for new companies or divisions to ensure tax efficiency, regulatory compliance, and effective internal controls in collaboration with central services.
• Optimise treasury operations by managing FX risk exposures through hedging strategies, overseeing payment terms in contracts, monitoring working capital metrics such as DSO and cash positions, and consolidating cash-flow forecasts.
• Drive continuous improvement by reviewing financial processes for alignment with group policies, identifying areas for enhancement, defining actionable plans, and managing their implementation.
• Support board-level presentations by preparing high-quality materials that communicate complex financial information clearly to stakeholders.
• Coach and develop finance professionals within the RBU entities to strengthen overall finance capabilities and foster knowledge sharing across teams.

What you bring:

To excel as Financial Controller in this dynamic environment, you will bring substantial experience from multinational settings where you have acted as both advisor and collaborator alongside senior leaders. Your academic background—ideally at Master’s level—will be complemented by deep practical knowledge gained through years spent navigating complex FP&A landscapes across diverse geographies. You are adept at translating high-level strategies into detailed action plans supported by robust data analysis. Your technical proficiency spans SAP platforms as well as advanced Microsoft Office tools; these enable you to deliver precise reports that inform critical decisions. Beyond technical acumen, your interpersonal strengths shine through your ability to nurture talent within multicultural teams—sharing insights generously while fostering collective achievement. Experience handling M&A activities or organisational change adds further value but is not essential if you demonstrate adaptability and resilience when facing evolving business needs.

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Finance is required along with 8-10 years’ experience in managerial roles within controlling or similar functions at multinational corporations operating across SEA/APAC regions.
• Proven track record as a trusted business partner to senior executive management (CEO/CFO/SVP/Regional CEO), ideally with experience engaging shareholders on strategic matters.
• Comprehensive understanding of financial planning & analysis (FP&A), treasury operations including FX risk management (hedging), tax compliance, costing methodologies, local/global GAAP & IFRS standards.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams internationally while fostering an inclusive environment that values knowledge sharing and professional development at all levels.
• Hands-on experience with SAP FI-CO modules as well as proficiency in SAP BW/BPC/TMS systems; advanced skills using Microsoft Excel, Word & PowerPoint are essential for success.
• Experience managing project businesses involving multiple global entities; familiarity with M&A projects (due diligence/integration) is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Ability to design tailored management reporting frameworks that translate business initiatives into actionable numbers while maintaining rigorous control over approval structures & tax matters.
• Strong analytical mindset capable of evaluating business decisions/projects for their financial impact while proactively highlighting challenges & proposing solutions to leadership teams.
• Track record of successfully implementing strategic projects/initiatives either from corporate instruction or organically within business units; experience with restructuring/change management/legal set-ups is beneficial.
• Excellent interpersonal skills enabling you to coach finance professionals effectively while building trust-based relationships across multicultural teams.
