What you'll do:

As a Financial Accounting Executive General Ledger based in Petaling Jaya, you will play an integral role in maintaining the integrity of financial data across multiple business units. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve validating documents, posting various financial entries such as credit notes and staff claims, monitoring accruals, and ensuring compliance with internal controls. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including the Northern Finance Operations team to guarantee completeness of inter-company transactions. Additionally, you will prepare detailed schedules and reports for management review, analyse financial statements for unusual trends or expenses, conduct ageing analysis on clearing accounts, participate in annual stock takes, and ensure reconciliations are completed accurately. Success in this role requires meticulous attention to detail, proactive communication with stakeholders, timely resolution of operational issues, and a commitment to meeting reporting deadlines. Your ability to adapt processes for new products or system enhancements will further contribute to the efficiency of finance operations.

• Ensure all accounting processes and journal entries comply with relevant accounting principles, internal controls, and group policies as applicable.
• Monitor accruals and provisioning amounts regularly to maintain accurate financial records and support timely month-end closing.
• Validate and process all documents before stipulated deadlines, guaranteeing completeness and accuracy in the General Ledger.
• Post credit notes, commissions, customer refunds, and staff claims accurately while adhering to strict timelines for processing.
• Check overtrades support claims for precision and follow up promptly to resolve any discrepancies or issues.
• Respond swiftly to urgent requests from business units, resolving operational issues efficiently and maintaining high standards of service.
• Collaborate closely with the Northern Finance Operations team to ensure inter-company transactions are fully accounted for in each company’s books.
• Work alongside functional stakeholders to suggest process modifications, coordinate new product launches, and implement relevant system functionalities within Finance Operations.
• Prepare schedules and reports for compiling additional financial information required by management or external parties.
• Analyse Management Reports, providing insightful commentary for Finance Operations Managers on trends, variances, and unusual expenses.

• At least 2-3 years of experience in general ledger roles or 4-5 years in finance operations within a growing capacity is essential.
• Experience in auditing is considered an added advantage for candidates applying for this role.
• Strong understanding or familiarity with IFRS 15 is highly preferred by the hiring team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is necessary for managing complex financial data effectively.
