What you'll do:

As an Accountant based in Kuala Lumpur, you will be entrusted with responsibilities that span from managing general ledger functions to preparing comprehensive financial statements. Your day-to-day activities will involve collaborating with colleagues across departments to ensure seamless communication regarding finance matters. You will play a key role in supporting audit processes by preparing schedules and reconciliations while also identifying areas for process improvement within the finance function. * Maintain and manage the full spectrum of general ledger functions, ensuring accurate journal entries, proper account classifications, and timely month-end closing activities.
* Prepare periodic financial statements, management reports, and supporting schedules in compliance with relevant accounting standards.
* Create audit schedules, perform reconciliations, and provide support for internal or external audits as well as other compliance-related reviews.
* Conduct detailed reviews of financial statements, analyse data thoroughly, and provide insightful feedback to business units when required.
* Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, controls, reporting efficiencies and offer support for system optimisation initiatives.
* Undertake additional ad-hoc tasks as assigned to support the organisation’s objectives and contribute positively to team goals.
* Collaborate closely with all staff members across departments to ensure smooth communication regarding finance matters.
* Assist the Head of Finance in implementing best practices for financial management within the organisation.
* Ensure all financial documentation is maintained accurately and securely according to company policies.
* Support the Finance team in achieving timely completion of monthly and annual reporting cycles.
