What you'll do:

As an Assistant Finance Manager based in Petaling Jaya, you will play a crucial role in supporting the finance team’s daily operations.   • Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports by gathering data and ensuring all information is accurate and delivered on time.
  • Review periodic finance close processes to guarantee precision and adherence to deadlines across all reporting cycles.
  • Prepare reconciliations that support the integrity of financial data while identifying trends, risks, and opportunities through detailed variance analysis.
  • Support management by preparing comprehensive reports as well as fulfilling ad hoc reporting requirements as they arise.
  • Contribute to the development and management of the annual budget process by assisting with preparation and timely updates of periodic forecasts.
  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes to ensure transactions are processed accurately and efficiently within set timelines.
  • Manage the general ledger by reviewing entries for completeness and accuracy while validating all financial data with proper reconciliation and documentation.
  • Assist in reviewing full sets of accounts to ensure compliance with accounting standards as well as internal company policies.
  • Monitor cash flow regularly to maintain sufficient liquidity for operational needs while proactively identifying potential challenges or shortfalls.
  • Implement robust internal controls designed to ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations while promoting best practices throughout the organisation.

What you bring:

To excel as an Assistant Finance Manager, you will bring proven experience from similar roles within finance or accounting environments. Your background should include hands-on involvement with financial reporting cycles, budgeting exercises, reconciliations, and compliance activities. A solid understanding of accounting principles combined with practical exposure to audit procedures will enable you to navigate regulatory requirements confidently.
