Senior Executive, Accounts (GL)

Our client, a public-listed service company with over four decades of experience in the Malaysian oil and gas industry, is seeking a Senior Account Executive for their General Ledger department. What you'll do:

As a Senior Account Executive in the General Ledger, your role will encompass a wide range of responsibilities. You will be tasked with performing the full spectrum of GL functions to maintain a complete set of accounts. This includes preparing annual audited accounts, tax computations, yearly budgets and forecasts. Your role will also involve liaising with various stakeholders such as auditors, tax agents, company secretaries and bankers. Additionally, you will be responsible for reviewing tender costing and commercial proposals.

• Performing full spectrum of GL function to maintain full set of accounts
• Performing monthly closing of accounts and variance analysis
• Preparation of annual audited accounts
• Preparation of tax and deferred tax computation
• Preparation of yearly budget and forecast and perform financial analysis for management review
• Updating of fixed asset register
• Ensuring completeness of accruals, provisions and prepayments
• Estimating forecast profitability for the purpose of estimating interim tax payments
• Liaising with auditors, tax agents, company secretary and bankers
• Reviewing tender costing and commercial proposals

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Senior Account Executive position will bring a wealth of knowledge and experience in finance or accountancy. You should possess at least a Professional Certificate, Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate Diploma or Professional Degree in Finance/Accountancy/Banking or equivalent. A proven track record with commercial experience is essential. You should be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining high standards of work. Good communication and interpersonal skills are crucial for this role as you will be liaising with various stakeholders.

• Possession of at least a Professional Certificate, Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate Diploma or Professional Degree in Finance/Accountancy/Banking or equivalent
• Proven track record with commercial experience
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail
• High integrity and ability to work independently
