A leading automotive manufacturing group in Seri Kembangan is seeking a Finance Manager to take charge of the finance function for its manufacturing business segment. What you'll do:


As Finance Manager based in Seri Kembangan within an automotive manufacturing group’s dynamic environment you will be entrusted with overseeing all aspects of the Manufacturing Finance function. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve guiding your team through complex financial closing cycles while ensuring compliance with statutory requirements. You’ll collaborate extensively with cross-functional leaders—Sales Operations, Procurement, Engineering, R&D—to shape budgeting forecasts that underpin strategic business decisions. By analysing profitability at multiple levels (customer project part product) you’ll provide actionable insights that inform pricing strategies/new programme launches. You’ll also play a crucial role in strengthening internal controls workflows updating finance policies refining SOPs—all aimed at safeguarding assets/reliability of information. Your expertise will be instrumental during audit cycles/tax matters/insurance claims coordination while your hands-on approach will drive improvements across receivables/payables/inventory/working capital management. Leveraging Oracle NetSuite ERP system you’ll champion data integrity/reporting quality/process efficiency enhancements. Ultimately your commitment to nurturing talent within your team combined with your analytical skills will ensure continued success/growth for the manufacturing segment.


* Lead and manage the finance team by setting clear responsibilities, ensuring timely deliverables, and supporting continuous development of each team member.
* Collaborate closely with the Group CFO and manufacturing leadership to facilitate smooth operations and ongoing improvements within the Manufacturing Finance function.
* Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes for the Manufacturing segment including general ledger management, reconciliations, provisions, intercompany balances, management accounts, and consolidation schedules.
* Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with accounting standards, statutory requirements, and Group policies while maintaining high-quality management reports.
* Direct product costing activities such as bills of materials analysis, standard versus actual costs evaluation, labour absorption calculations, cost roll ups, and variance analysis for manufacturing operations.
* Maintain robust inventory accounting controls over raw materials, work-in-progress items, finished goods, scrap management, stock counts procedures, slow-moving inventory tracking, and inventory provision assessments.
* Analyse profitability at customer, project, part, and product levels; provide insightful financial input on quotations, pricing strategies, cost-down requests, and new programme decisions.
* Lead budgeting and periodic forecasting processes by collaborating with Sales, Operations, Procurement, Engineering, R&D teams on volumes planning, pricing models, production plans development, headcount allocation strategies as well as operating expenditure and capital expenditure projections.
* Prepare comprehensive financial analyses accompanied by management commentary covering revenue trends, margin performance metrics, operating costs breakdowns including EBITDA calculations; monitor cash flow movements; assess working capital positions; evaluate capital expenditure proposals; identify risks/opportunities.
* Manage cash flow forecasting activities alongside liquidity monitoring tasks; oversee banking administration duties; coordinate funding requirements for the Manufacturing segment in partnership with Group Finance.
* Drive improvements in receivables collection efficiency; optimise payables processing; enhance inventory turnover rates; strengthen overall working capital management practices.
* Review capital expenditure proposals thoroughly by assessing their financial feasibility/potential payback periods; monitor approved spending against budgets; evaluate post-investment performance outcomes.
* Develop/strengthen internal controls frameworks including approval workflows design; update finance policies regularly; refine standard operating procedures to safeguard company assets/improve reliability of financial information.
* Coordinate/support external/internal audits as well as tax/statutory matters handling (including transfer pricing issues); manage insurance claims processes; liaise with auditors/tax agents/bankers/insurers/professional advisers as required.
* Enhance utilisation of Oracle NetSuite ERP system by improving data integrity/reporting quality/finance process efficiency throughout the department.
* Undertake additional finance/governance/business improvement responsibilities assigned by Group CFO or senior management.

* A recognised professional accounting qualification such as ACCA CPA CIMA ICAEW MICPA or a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting Finance or equivalent is essential for this role.
* At least seven years of progressive experience in finance/accounting roles including prior experience managing teams ideally within a manufacturing environment.
* Solid exposure to manufacturing finance practices would be highly advantageous especially if gained from automotive/component manufacturing external audit or listed company settings.
* Strong knowledge base covering financial reporting management accounting standard costing inventory control budgeting/forecasting cash flow management internal controls statutory compliance requirements.
* Advanced Microsoft Excel skills coupled with practical experience using ERP systems (Oracle NetSuite experience preferred).
* Ability to understand commercial/manufacturing drivers translate them into clear financial implications recommendations/actions that support business objectives.
* Analytical organised dependable individual capable of prioritising/delivering quality work within tight reporting timelines while maintaining attention to detail throughout processes.
