A leading organisation in the FMCG and manufacturing sector is seeking a Supply Chain Finance Manager to join their team in Kuala Lumpur. This role offers you the opportunity to play a pivotal part in shaping financial strategy across supply chain and manufacturing operations, working closely with cross-functional teams to drive cost efficiency and enhance business performance. You will be empowered to provide critical financial insights, support key decision-making processes, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. The company values collaboration, inclusivity, and professional growth, offering flexible working opportunities and access to ongoing training. If you are passionate about finance within a manufacturing environment and thrive in a supportive setting where your expertise is valued, this is an exceptional opportunity for you.
What you'll do:
As Supply Chain Finance Manager you will be at the heart of the organisation’s financial operations within the supply chain. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve partnering with various teams—such as Operations, Procurement, Production, Warehouse—to ensure robust financial planning and analysis. You will oversee manufacturing costing processes including product costing and BOM management while monitoring production variances. By preparing detailed management reports and conducting thorough analyses of supply chain performance metrics like inventory valuation or production efficiency, you will help drive cost-saving initiatives. Your expertise will be crucial in reviewing product margins for commercial decisions as well as evaluating CAPEX proposals. Success in this role requires a collaborative approach; you’ll need to connect with stakeholders across departments to share insights that improve both operational outcomes and financial visibility. Continuous improvement is encouraged here—your input into refining costing processes or strengthening controls will be highly valued.
- Lead comprehensive financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting activities for supply chain and manufacturing operations by collaborating with multiple teams.
- Oversee all aspects of manufacturing costing including product costing, standard costing, bill of materials (BOM), material usage, labour costs, and production overheads to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Analyse production variances such as material price variance, usage variance, labour variance, and overhead variance while identifying key cost drivers for improvement.
- Monitor and evaluate manufacturing costs, inventory valuation, production efficiency metrics, and overall supply chain performance to provide actionable insights.
- Partner closely with Production, Procurement, Warehouse, and Operations teams to identify cost-saving opportunities and implement efficiency improvements throughout the supply chain.
- Review product margins and profitability by providing detailed financial analysis that supports pricing strategies and commercial decisions.
- Prepare monthly management reports along with in-depth financial analysis covering supply chain and manufacturing performance for senior stakeholders.
- Support annual budgeting cycles, forecasting processes, and long-term financial planning initiatives for manufacturing operations by leveraging your analytical skills.
- Monitor inventory levels as well as working capital requirements to optimise inventory-related financial performance across the business.
- Evaluate capital expenditure (CAPEX), production investments, and other operational initiatives from a financial perspective to ensure sound decision-making.
- Drive continuous improvement in costing processes by enhancing financial controls and reporting mechanisms within the organisation.
- Provide insightful recommendations to senior management regarding operational performance and supply chain optimisation based on thorough financial analysis.
What you bring:

Your background should include deep familiarity with manufacturing costing practices—covering everything from product costing through BOM management—and an ability to analyse production variances effectively. A professional accounting qualification would further strengthen your profile but commitment to continuous learning matters most here. The ideal candidate thrives in collaborative settings where sharing knowledge leads to communal success.
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related discipline is required for this position.
- Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, CPA or ICAEW is preferred but not mandatory.

- Strong hands-on experience in manufacturing costing as well as product costing is vital for this role.
- Good understanding of standard costing methods including BOM management, inventory costing techniques and production variance analysis is necessary.
- Experience working collaboratively with manufacturing teams such as Production, Procurement or Supply Chain is highly desirable.
- Advanced FP&A skills including budgeting processes and financial analysis capabilities are expected from candidates applying for this position.
- Solid grasp of inventory management principles along with working capital optimisation strategies will set you apart.
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle—or other manufacturing ERP platforms—is considered advantageous but not compulsory.
