What you'll do:

• Generate monthly, quarterly, and yearly accounting reports with meticulous attention to accuracy and legal compliance, ensuring alignment with country goals.
• Collaborate closely with other departments to establish procedures and follow up on timely reporting requirements, fostering inter-departmental cooperation.
• Manage recruiting, training, development, and succession planning for the accounting department team while promoting a nurturing environment.
• Fulfil all employee relation responsibilities by supporting your team members through guidance and empathetic leadership.
• Guarantee tax and VAT declarations and payments are made according to legal demands by maintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant regulations.
• Prepare cash flow forecasts to ensure liquidity for business operations, contributing to financial stability.
• Work alongside the Country Controller and external auditors or authorities to facilitate smooth audits and regulatory engagements.
• Report directly to the Regional Accounting Manager – APAC, providing updates on departmental performance and compliance matters.
• Drive process improvement initiatives within the accounting function to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Support the delivery of a great customer experience by aligning financial practices with organisational objectives.

What you bring:

• CA/ACCA/AICPA qualification with at least seven years of proven accounting experience is essential for this role.
• A strong teamplayer mindset demonstrated through effective coaching, support, and collaboration across functions is highly valued.
• Advanced Excel skills are required for handling complex financial data analysis and reporting tasks.
• Experience working with SAP, VIM, and Concur systems will enable you to navigate daily operations efficiently.
• Retail industry experience combined with a background in Big 4 firms is considered advantageous but not mandatory.
• Excellent communication skills are necessary for engaging internal stakeholders as well as external auditors or regulatory authorities.
• Highly analytical abilities paired with strong problem-solving capabilities will help you address challenges proactively.
• Passion for process improvement and driving meaningful change within accounting practices is important for success.
• Proven stakeholder management skills including engagement with auditors or authorities are expected from candidates applying for this position.
