What you'll do:
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include overseeing general ledger accuracy, preparing detailed supporting schedules for month-end close, managing group consolidations, analysing financial data for actionable insights, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations, assisting with audits, implementing new accounting systems (including ERP), managing fixed assets from acquisition through disposal, conducting physical verification as needed, overseeing inventory valuation processes including identification of obsolete stock items, generating analytical reports on inventory movements, supporting periodic inventory counts, investigating discrepancies thoroughly, and collaborating closely with colleagues across departments. Your ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while upholding high standards of accuracy will be key to your success in this role.
- Maintain and review general ledger entries to ensure the accuracy of all financial records and reconcile financial statements as required.
- Prepare comprehensive supporting schedules for month-end closing and reporting processes, ensuring timely completion of all deliverables.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities by preparing accurate financial statements for both standalone entities and group consolidation purposes.
- Analyse and interpret complex financial information, providing thoughtful solutions to resolve any issues identified during the reporting process.
- Ensure all accounting practices comply with internal company policies, statutory requirements, and relevant accounting standards at all times.
- Assist with audit preparation and coordination by compiling necessary documentation and responding promptly to auditor queries.
- Contribute to the implementation and maintenance of accounting systems and software, including active involvement in ERP projects for manufacturing entities.
- Monitor and maintain the Fixed Asset Register by processing additions, disposals, write-offs, and computing monthly depreciation according to company policy.
- Conduct analyses and physical verification related to fixed assets while preparing detailed reports during month-end closing activities.
- Oversee inventory valuation across all categories by reviewing records, identifying slow-moving or obsolete stock items, executing corrective measures, and collaborating with other departments for accurate reporting.
What you bring:
To excel as a Finance Manager in this organisation’s Nilai office, you will bring proven experience gained from working within finance teams—ideally within manufacturing environments—where you have demonstrated your ability to handle complex reporting requirements.
- A recognised degree in Accountancy or professional qualifications such as ACCA, CIMA or CPA are essential for this position.
- At least three years’ experience in a similar capacity within the finance function is required; prior exposure to the manufacturing sector would be highly advantageous.
- Demonstrated technical proficiency in accounting principles and standards is vital for effective performance in this role.
- Proficiency with accounting software packages as well as hands-on experience with ERP systems is expected.
