What you'll do:
As Vice President of Finance based in Penang’s corporate office you will play a central role in shaping the financial direction of a large group. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve acting as deputy to the CFO—translating strategic objectives into actionable plans across all finance functions. You will oversee group-wide financial reporting ensuring accuracy timeliness compliance with regulatory standards while maintaining robust consolidation processes. Managing liquidity capital structure treasury operations will be key as you optimise resources for sustainable growth. Tax compliance planning insurance programme oversight shared services supervision centre of excellence leadership are integral parts of your remit. You’ll also support major corporate exercises such as mergers acquisitions restructuring fund-raising by coordinating due diligence valuation modelling integration planning. Sustainability governance enterprise risk management stakeholder communication people leadership succession planning continuous improvement will define your success in this role. - Act as the second-in-command to the CFO by providing leadership continuity across all finance functions and translating strategic priorities into coordinated plans, policies, controls, and deliverables.
- Represent the CFO at management, Board or committee meetings when delegated, ensuring material financial, compliance and risk matters are escalated promptly.
- Lead the preparation and review of timely and accurate consolidated financial statements and management reports for monthly, quarterly, and annual periods.
- Oversee statutory financial filings including Bursa Malaysia announcements, annual reports, ensuring compliance with MFRS, IFRS, Listing Requirements, Companies Act, and Group accounting policies.
- Maintain robust consolidation processes with strong controls, audit readiness, accurate disclosures, and sound accounting judgements throughout the Group.
- Manage Group liquidity by overseeing cash flow, funding strategies, banking facilities, foreign exchange exposure, treasury controls while optimising capital structure and borrowing costs.
- Supervise tax compliance across corporate income tax, indirect tax, transfer pricing; ensure timely filings and payments while leading commercially sound tax planning initiatives.
- Oversee the Group insurance programme including risk assessment, coverage adequacy, renewals, claims management and broker relationships aligned with business continuity requirements.
- Provide strategic oversight of Finance Shared Services such as accounts payable/receivable operations; drive service quality standardisation productivity controls customer responsiveness compliance with agreed service levels.
- Lead the Finance Centre of Excellence by standardising policies processes data definitions operating practices; sponsor transformation systems implementation automation analytics continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist the CFO with mergers acquisitions divestments restructuring fund-raising joint ventures other corporate exercises including due diligence valuation modelling transaction structuring integration planning adviser engagement.
- Support sustainability governance strategy target-setting performance monitoring relevant disclosures focusing on financial implications data integrity enterprise risk management.
- Maintain a strong financial-control environment supporting audits remediation findings continuous improvement governance stakeholder management including auditors regulators insurers bankers advisers.

You have successfully managed group-wide financial reporting consolidation demonstrating mastery over regulatory frameworks such as MFRS IFRS Listing Requirements Companies Act. You have led shared services centres of excellence driving process standardisation transformation automation analytics continuous improvement fostering collaborative networks. Experience supporting major corporate transactions—mergers acquisitions divestments restructuring fund-raising—adds value through rigorous due diligence valuation modelling integration planning adviser engagement. Your understanding of sustainability governance performance measurement disclosure ensures alignment between financial strategy operational realities data integrity. - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting Finance or related discipline or recognised professional qualification such as CA(M) ACCA CPA or equivalent is required for this position.
- Membership or eligibility for membership with MIA is mandatory for this role ensuring adherence to local professional standards.
- Minimum 15 years progressive finance experience including at least 5 years in senior leadership overseeing multiple finance functions within a sizeable complex or listed group is essential.
- Proven track record in group financial reporting consolidation with deep knowledge of MFRS/IFRS Bursa Malaysia Listing Requirements Companies Act applicable reporting governance requirements is necessary.
- Broad practical experience across treasury funding tax compliance planning group insurance financial controls audit enterprise risk management is highly valued.
- Demonstrated ability to lead Finance Shared Services Centre of Excellence including process standardisation service-level management transformation systems implementation automation analytics continuous improvement is important.
