What you'll do:

• Take full responsibility for cash management, investments, insurance, budgeting, and financial reporting while helping to drive the company’s overall financial strategy and hiring needs.
• Coordinate the development of annual operating budgets, capital budgets, programme budgets, as well as comprehensive reporting for each area.
• Ensure operational cash flow compatibility by overseeing day-to-day accounting activities, recording transactions accurately, reporting financial data promptly, and maintaining strong internal controls throughout the organisation.
• Develop and implement best practices and tools to create a well-controlled yet flexible organisation with strong fiscal management, effective project coordination, cross-team communications, and streamlined workflows.
• Comply with national and local financial requirements by studying existing legislation and new regulations, taking appropriate action to maintain compliance at all times.
• Work collaboratively with senior managers to efficiently develop budget proposals, provide access to project finance information, and ensure contract or grant compliance along with accurate reporting.
• Research revenue opportunities and economic trends; analyse internal operations thoroughly; identify areas for cost reduction; and enhance processes across departments.
• Perform risk management through detailed analysis of company liabilities and investments; evaluate capital structure; manage fundraising initiatives; and ensure sound investment decisions.
• Monitor business performance using tracking tools; establish corrective measures when necessary; prepare detailed reports for earnings calls; communicate findings to management teams; and share insights across the company.
• Manage finance personnel effectively; oversee financial IT systems; ensure compliance with relevant regulatory entities such as Financial Accounting Standards Board or Internal Revenue Service.

What you bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field is required; a Master’s degree or professional qualifications such as CPA, ACCA or CFA are highly preferred.
• Registration with recognised professional bodies in Malaysia is essential for this position.
• Minimum of 10-15 years progressive experience in finance roles is expected; at least 5 years must be spent in senior leadership positions within similar organisations.
• Experience working in public listed companies or investment holding companies is highly desirable for this role.
• In-depth knowledge of financial management principles including investment analysis, corporate finance strategies, accounting standards and regulatory frameworks is crucial.
• Proficiency in using advanced financial software systems ensures efficient operations across all functions.
• Strong leadership skills demonstrated by your ability to motivate teams towards shared goals while fostering an inclusive environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills enable you to present complex financial information clearly to diverse audiences including executives and external stakeholders.
