What you'll do:
As Head of Finance based in Penang, you will play an instrumental role in guiding the overall financial direction of several companies within a dynamic group. Your day-to-day responsibilities will see you collaborating with senior leaders to develop robust strategies that underpin sustainable business growth. You will manage comprehensive finance functions—ranging from accounting oversight to treasury operations—ensuring that every aspect aligns with best practices and regulatory requirements. By providing clear financial analysis and reports to stakeholders, you will empower data-driven decisions throughout the organisation. Your ability to maintain strong internal controls while engaging confidently with external partners such as auditors and regulators will be crucial. - Provide leadership in developing and continuously evaluating both short-term and long-term strategic financial planning frameworks to support the group’s ongoing business growth.
- Oversee all finance functions including accounting, costing, treasury, corporate finance, working capital management, budgetary control, tax planning, and internal control processes.
- Take responsibility for timely and accurate financial reporting and analysis, presenting key insights to stakeholders across the organisation.
- Ensure effective internal controls are maintained in line with MFRS standards as well as all relevant regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting.
- Represent the company in engagements with board members, bankers, auditors (both internal and external), tax agents, company secretaries, regulatory authorities, and other parties to ensure full compliance with statutory requirements.
- Evaluate, structure, and implement corporate exercises such as acquisitions, project financing initiatives, restructuring activities, and other strategic projects.
- Advise executive management on the financial implications of various business activities to support informed decision-making at the highest level.
- Undertake ad-hoc assignments as required by executive management or the board to address emerging needs or special projects within the group.
What you bring:
To excel as Head of Finance in this organisation, your background should reflect substantial experience managing diverse finance functions within large or multi-entity businesses. - Hold a degree in Accountancy or Finance complemented by a recognised professional accounting qualification such as CA, CPA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent credentials.
- Demonstrate at least 10 years’ experience in progressive financial leadership roles within complex organisational structures.
- Possess recent experience with IPO processes or listings on Bursa Malaysia (considered an added advantage).
- Exhibit excellent time-management abilities alongside strong organisational skills that enable you to balance multiple priorities effectively.
