What you'll do: As a Deputy CISO (Brunei), you will play a pivotal role in shaping the cybersecurity landscape within the client's organisation. You will be responsible for monitoring the adequacy of controls designed to mitigate inherent risks in the bank’s IT and information security control environment. Your role will involve maintaining and supporting second line risk functions with detailed reporting and technology recommendations. You will also serve as a point of contact for external examiners during assessments. In addition to these responsibilities, you will stay abreast of evolving technologies, threats, standards, and compliance requirements. Your strategic input will be crucial in developing the mission, vision, strategy, and operational plan of the Cyber and IT Risk Management Unit.
Monitor and evaluate the adequacy of controls designed to mitigate inherent risks in the bank’s IT and information security control environment

Work closely with auditors, examiners, and security leadership to ensure cybersecurity policies are aligned with an appropriate level of risk
Stay abreast of evolving technologies, threats, standards, and compliance requirements
Serve as a point of contact and liaison with external examiners for assessments throughout the year
Develop and assess the mission, vision, strategy, and operational plan of Cyber and IT Risk Management Unit
What you bring: The ideal Deputy CISO (Brunei) brings a wealth of experience in IT or cybersecurity. You hold relevant certifications such as CISM or CISSP or CRISC. With at least 10 - 15 years' experience in the field, you have a deep understanding of IT risks and how to manage them. Your strong communication skills enable you to effectively liaise with various stakeholders, including auditors and examiners. You are adept at project management and multitasking, allowing you to handle multiple responsibilities concurrently. Furthermore, your knowledge of national and global cybersecurity policies, regulations, and security frameworks will be crucial in this role.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information assurance or related technical field or business administration
Active CISM or CISSP or CRISC certification
At least 10 - 15 years’ IT or cybersecurity experience
Strong written and verbal communication skills across all levels of the organisation
Proven project management, multitasking, and organisational skills
Knowledgeable about national and global cybersecurity policies, regulations, and security frameworks
